Is a CAT D 911 a really bad idea?

I have wanted a 911 for ages but have not bought one as my budget will not get me a decent one. I’m going to need a new car soon as I basically have to share my wife’s car.

I came across this

If i get it checked over by a Porsche dealer and they say it’s ok would this be a bad idea? Im builing my house (flat) so my wife would rather I spend 40k on a kitchen but this would be much more fun lol

He sent me a email offering it at 33k, I thought he would come down to 32k

But if your saying its still not worth it I will take your word for it and wait until I can afford a proper one. I did not want to go half way and get a older 05. I would rather wait a year or so and and get a the Gen2 when I can afford it and just get my self a Audi or BMW as a stop gap.


EDIT, Just seen your link guess you are right.

Get a 996 to tide you over, if you buy one of those the right way you probably wont lose any money over a year and you get the Porsche fix till you buy a Gen 2 :)

I was not a big fan of the front lights on the 996. However The issue I have is that I don’t mind spending a lot on a car. I don’t mind the fact that I only get 200 miles to a 70 quid tank however I just want to die inside when I get a 2k repair bill which is why I generally buy cars under guarantee. I have seen how expensive it is to fixing a 911 and think its would rather just spend the extra and get a newer car that is less likely to have expensive problems.

really, I thoughts lots of City boys in London kept crashing them in the 90's. Probably down to having lots of money but not much skill.

Still would not be idea as a day to day car for me.

I will just go back to another 335i or S5 for now and scratch that 911 itch at a later date.

I would but for the next year or so I cant see my self being able to spend over low 30's on a car and If im going to get a 911 I want a good one, I would rather wait until I can afford to spend more and get a proper one Ie a Gen2 with the PDK:D

You can get a 997 for low 30's.

PDK is not all that either.

ok, I will take a look around. I am not in a huge rush anyway as I will not really be in the uk much between now and mid Feb so If something good comes along I will buy it and sit on it until I am back permanently.
 
Minor damage? And he has no pictures to show, which is handy.

It's a Cat D Porsche - unless its stupidly cheap(which it isn't), avoid, because you'll really struggle to sell that on.
 
Forget the Porsche a min, £40k on a kitchen in a flat?!
I know it's a huge flat, but what has she got planned in there? Lol
