I've been scammed somehow out of £308

You have to link up PayPal to your bank account to allow it to do that, so the OP has effectively already authorised that.

Well because it was taking £300 out of his account for a £75 payment - it would have probably been sensible to highlight this to him first rather than just taking it. Not specifically PayPal's fault the situation occurred but a simple automated message that highlights when PayPal feels the need to help itself to your bank account wouldn't be too much to ask for I don't think.

exactly. The main thing is that my PP account was showing as £0 balance before I bough the CPU. If it was showing as -£230.44 I wouldnt have used paypal

Doesn't mean it wouldn't be sensible to let you know when it's going to withdraw funds and how much though. Just because you previously authorised something, doesn't mean it can't sometimes be a hassle when it helps itself unexpectedly later on.

O2 do it for broadband - they send a text a few days before they withdraw, despite the fact I have authorised them to take it anyway, it's still a decent service to provide.

e.

it will of told him and im 100% sure about that. it will of looked exactly like his pic above only with a 'confirm' button somewhere

the main balance may of said zero but the one on the transaction will of had what it has above.

Bought some RAM from the same seller which I think he will be posting soon, this made me jump out my skin! But I checked my PayPal and all is well so I can breathe a sigh of relief now, don't shock me in the future please :p

You are kidding right? Paypal's business structure revolves around being able to help themselves to people's accounts and then refuse to give it back.

Good seller, relativity new, but done lots of good deals now and helped me out with something I needed urgently..

Its a shame what happened, but its between you yourself, paypal and the bank.

Also how many Q6600 have you brought, seen at least 3 threads talking about a new one :D
