iPhone 4 reading out Facebook messages?

Does anyone know how to stop the iPhone from doing this.

For some bizarre reason it keeps reading out specific wall posts from Facebook whenever they are updated!

I've tried Google but no results and would appreciate some help as I had an embarrassing moment today in front of my boss where my iPhone started reading out a list of profanities.

LOL...am pretty sure in the settings theres something regarding this...lemme check

Yep go into settings then from there scroll down to accessiblity and in there just turn everything to off.

That's the thing mate, all the options are off.

Really confused, it seems to be reading out one particular wall post.

Oh right...hmmm no idea then sorry maybe someone will be along to tell you what it is.

Have you tried powering on/off the device??...maybe that will stop it or maybe your iphone is possessed

I just nearly forced hot tea through my nose reading this thread so far, I'd love to know what's going on here.

My first thought was accessibility options but it's looking increasingly likely that the phone has become self aware. Probably to avenge all the bad press about the antenna.

I've reset it and will let you know if I have any luck.

It just so happened when I was talking to my boss my mate replied to a message on a wall post where I'd explained he missed a quality night out in frabric on friday night, his response was a jokey 'oh fff' followed by a list of swear words. I guess the timing was seriously unlucky.

Found the culprit.

It was a 'Runmetre' app running in the background. I use it to record gps data when I'm out on my runs and I didn't realise it connects to facebook and automatically reads out new notifications to you. Doh!
