I just took delivery of a New toilet seat.... Long story short the old one got broken when i thought it would be a good idea to stand on it while painting the ceiling haha.....

It was 80 quid imported from Germany cos i couldn't find a bloody English company selling them, NEVER get you bathroom fitted by Dolphin, lesson learned.

There i am Attaching it removing the old one. the screw driver slipped from my hand, straight into the new one knocking a dirty great chip out of it....

I actually just laughed out loud, 2 weeks to get the thing delivered and 80 quid to be back at stage one... with a new broken seat.

Everything i ever do related to DIY seems to be cursed.. FML

Reading that thread title I was expecting a tale of woe and horror and all we get is another bog thread. :D
 
this scenario makes me wonder how long one must own something for before they are annoyed about it getting damaged or worn etc. case in point, i bought a rug for my living room a few weeks ago and made a point of being extrememly careful with food, drink, shoes etc around it. on saturday i dropped a bit of chilli sauce on it and was like ''meh''. so, to the OP, just look at it as a case of it has simply happened sooner rather than later or bite the bullet and order a new one
