My boss has just told me im not getting paid tomorrow (more info)

I just recived an e mail from my boss saying "Due to banking errors/problems (im sure you guys know what im talking about here) Im afraid Payment, will have to be put on hold till next monday at the least. I'm so sorry for this quick rushed e mail ill ring you all later and let you know properly whats going on - Sorry." Its a long story but the payroll department are A holes. They've messed up every month since january. This time it's a major 'male chicken' up! I dont blame my boss but im about to become over drawn. I orderd a blue ray drive on here Which im not trying to cancel -_- if i cant cancel that my mobile bill is being taken out tomorrow as well. Is there anything i can do? I called the bank up about 10mins ago and they said i can apply for an overdraft but where im a trainee and have only been there 60 days They doubt ill be accepted and if i am it will be early next week. Any ideas? As long as i can cancel that drive ill be fine -_-


MAJOR UPDATE: Just got a phone call from Jack (not real name)
Lmfao Okay get this, we have 12 departments and 10 of them wernt paid... :) the two that were paid were "cleaners" and ... yep you guessed it "Payroll" -_- Thats why hes so p'ed. Apprently 'jack' said not to go in towork tomorrow and the other managers are on about doing likewise. Still dont help my postion tho.


UPDATE: 1st off the very kind people at ocuk have canceled the order but the moeny has allready been taken :( but at leats ill have it within 2-3 days.
2nd: I went into work today and went into payroll and found about 30 others had the same idea. After a HUGE argument the stand in payroll boss (the real onehad been fired last night) said he would try and get the money out to us friday.. Then all the department bosses went to the head of the company which has said we WILL have the money paid in by the end of the day. I talked to my boss (jack) and said he would lend me £30 (too keep me out of the Unplanned overdraft. :D) as long as i psaid him back when i got paid. I do have a feeling tho were not gunna be paid by the end of the day. I also get the feeling somethings going on. I dont think the company is going to under (as its a place of education)
3rd: I called 02 and theyve taken my phonebill off DD, which means ill keep getting phone calls "WHY HAVNT YOU PAID!"but she woman said off the record they wont cut me off till the 7th of october. Also Ive made a personal aggrement with my self. If i dont get paid untill after the weekend im leaving ASAP.

Very strange way of wording an email to say your not getting paid.

Seems like you managers lack managerial skills, e.g. pointing fingers at other departments and what not.

Nope hes a great manager. Like he said it was a quick e mail to say we wernt getting paid. It was sent from his personal e mail address. Im talking to a friend on msn who said the boss just rang him and is p***** right off -_- It is the payroll department not his.

P.s hes a manager of our department not the payroll. (im trying not to give out too much info >< sorry to be vague

when ever there was a mess up at my old company, they gave you the option to be paid in cash, or wait for the bacs.

I know, for some reason (i think its because im training) we get paid tuesdays. -_- Its anoying spesh as when christmas hits its gunna be really messed up lol

Still not great practice to point fingers and what not to his employees but thats just personal opinion I guess.

All the best with it mate, its a tough situation. My old place gave me a cash advance when they cocked up the banking.

Lol I know, You have to know him to understand tho. My friend whos worked there since last june said When the payments first got messed up he was very quiet apart it. Now the 8th month in a row theyve hashed it up, he and all the other department managers are livid. Normally they get paid half of what they were owed or 3 quaters. This month NOTHING -_-

If my Boss was to pay late like this - I would also kick up a massive fuss - They need to understand that you have bills etc yo be paid.

It's his fault that you're O/D now. Not yours.

So, kick up a big fuss I say. If this isn;t the first time, I surely would not be standing for it, that's for sure.

Not a particularly useful input lol.

The OP should be getting paid, many live to their means and while I do pt money aside it wouldn't be enough to sustain me entirely for a month without me having to then go backwards (take money from savings of previous months).

I'm pretty sure if you get any charges or anything like that your company will have to foot them.

If it is that your not getting paid and can't sort it out any sooner, ring companys who have payments due and speak with them.
 
have you ever though of saving any money? then these sort of things wouldnt happen.

if you cant save, then get yourself a credit card for purchases, that way you have a month to pay the bill.

... I do have the money? Tomorrow is anotehr matter. The phone bill is being taken out and then ill be over drawn. The reason I need to cancel the drive is i cant cancel the phone bill. Read between the lines -_- I was lead to belive tho that i was getting paid tomorrow so i wasnt worried. That wage was to cover my bills.

If i would i could. Ive just come out of long course and im skint. Like i said Ive only been there 60 days -_- ..lmao a credit card. The worst things ever made -_-

Start looking for another job ASAP mate. Banking/Payroll error is standard bs to say when they have no money and are about to go into administration or liquidation.

-_- lmao tell me about it. I dont think this company could.. Its hard to explaine its goverment owned. I dont wana give out too much info tho :(
