Hey guys,

I've just completely reset my BB.

it was all setup, i had BB Messenger, e-mail, everything, then i stupidly typed the password to the phone wrong 3 times.

Now the phone has completely wiped itself, back to how it was when i brought it :(

How do i get it all setup with blackberry again.

I tried doing it via the phone and nothing, and i don't have it backed up cos i only brought it yesterday.

Man i feel stupid.

Not too hot on Blackberrys but give this a try...

If the Blackberry services don't automatically fire up, check if you have GPRS or 3G showing in upper case in the top right corner of the screen where your signal bar is and check the following:

Menu > Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table
and see if you have a bunch of numbers and things listed there that fill up the screen. If not, hit the Blackberrry/Menu key and select Register Now and wait for a message to come through saying something along the lines of Your blackberry device has been successfully registered. While you wait, you don't have to leave it on this screen, you can carry on using the phone. You may want to pull the battery out and put it back in again also.

Also, regarding your email you'll have to set it up again from the Setup Folder, in the Menu its a folder icon with a green cog IIRC.

If during email setup when you got the phone, you weren't asked to create a Blackberry username and password, You'll need to call your network operator and speak to them to get your BIS account username and pass, if they ask why, say you want to add/remove email accounts.

Another thing to try is logging into the BIS service page for whichever network you are on, and re-sending the service books to your handset.

What lightbulb said also any info you had on there ie emails/texts etc will be gone as you have wiped the device and seeing as you havent backed it up...word of caution bakc up your phone at least once a week or more if you want...i back up my BB's at least 3-4 times a week.

You can set up your email via your networks BIS page or do it on the device through the setup icon.

There should definately be an option for the whole deleting of data after so many password attempts.

Yes there is..its in options then security options from there you can enable or disable it.

Just had a look and the only wipe bit in the security options menu is the option to wipe the device manually nothing about stopping it from wiping it after an incorrect password

Yeh sorry my bad...its actually called password which is in the options screen...click on that and you can enable or disable the password along with number of attempts and other related options.
