A British teenager has been banned from America for life for sending Barack Obama an abusive email.

Luke Angel was reprimanded by police on both sides of the Atlantic after firing off a drunken message to the White House calling the president a "p****".

The FBI intercepted the message and contacted police in the UK who went to see the 17-year-old at his home in Silsoe, Bedfordshire.

Quite bizarre they would actually take notice and not just delete it? I'm pretty sure our previous Prime Minister got a lot worse email's sent to him!

OTT in my opinion, but if per-sa he threaten to kill him or his family then yeah but a 17yr kid waffling and calling names in an email results in a photo being taken in your home and being banned for life from American.

He got served.

I wonder if the police (in the UK) actually went to the trouble of getting a warrant to reveal his address from the ISP? Unless he just put his real name and address in there

Chances are it was the Secret Service and the FBI - the US Secret Service takes any threats against any President quite seriously, and in this instance I'd guess banning someone from entering the country was a fairly simple thing for them to do (IIRC depending on the threat/level of abuse they can go for prison time).
