Just saw this guy and figured my music collection is missing some chilled out male vocalists.

Everyone I know on Facebook is going mental for Michael Buble.

I have no idea who he is, apart from being a singer, so don't come complaining to me if he's rubbish!

I can't see the video here at work but would Jeff Buckley fit with your tastes? He seemed to be pretty good at the old singing lark until that rather unfortunate incident with the water.

Already got stuff by Buble and Buckley, thanks. Definitely on the right track.

How about more recent artists?

Jamie Woon is a great start, thanks Mike. His video for Spirit is exactly what I'm looking for.

Just thought then - Brian Eno's Another Day On Earth (2005) is a really nice chilled album. If I remember I'll have a look when I get home and see if anything else comes to mind.

I'm going to suggest looking at the below, they should fit the style but some may be a little heavier than the pure acoustic nature of the video

Jeff Buckley
Newton Faulkner
Nizlopi (the group who did the JCB song)
Orson

Chris Cornell also has an acoustic album (unplugged in sweden) which might work altough his voice can be a bit love it or hate it.

No problem, I quite like the Burial remix of Wayfaring Stranger myself:

I don't really know of anyone else who has a similar sound unfortunately, Moderat's recent single called Rusty Nails had a similar kind of vibe though. :)

Alex Band.

Despite looking like a 12 year old girl, he's got one of the best voices I've ever heard.

If you particularly like Buckley, check out Jasper Steverlinck, or more specifically his little known Belgian band Arid.

:)

Not feeling Brian Eno, but thanks for the recommendation.

No bother, I like the album but it isn't something I want to play all that often.

Took me a little while but I've got round to taking a quick look through my music collection. You might like to look at Ben Harper and Damien Rice though as I don't see either mentioned and from my limited experience of them both seem fairly chilled. Tom Waits is an outside possibility, a bit misanthropic and bluesy but with a few odder more experimental songs. I've heard good things about Seasick Steve although haven't heard anything much of his.

Finally for the comedy value it's worth listening to Richard Cheese doing lounge room versions of popular hits - it's not what you want but quite funny all the same.

So, did you decide to take up anyone recommendations Kaiju?

I'm a bit interested as pimping Jackson C. Frank to people who have never heard of him is somewhat of an obsession of mine :D And almost no one knows who he is and how influential he's been, probably because he only released one album and his life went into a massive decline almost immediately afterwards.

Anyway, just an excuse to post this really:
