About to attempt my first solo build, not done anything like this for 5 years or so and I'm bored of using a laptop all the time so thought I'd give it a go.

My idea was to build something I could add to as more money came in, so I've gone for an integrated graphics to start with, with dedicated being a future addition along with maybe a SSD. At present I'm trying to keep costs low without hampering upgrade potential, I'll also need OS and other useful bits and bobs too and aim to spend under £600 on the whole lot.

Here's the build:

What do you guys think, do I really need the cooler? No immediate overclocking plans but maybe in the future. Should I get a SSD to start with, or is transitioning to one later easy enough to do? Any obvious compatability issues with the build?

All help much appreciated.
Thanks

The CPU cooler is always a good idea, but if your not planning on overclocking to start with and wanting to keep costs down you wouldn't need it until later. So might be an idea to scrap the cooler for now and pick it up when and if you need it?

Also I'm not the best to comment on parts but what is the comp for? that normally helps with choosing which sorts of parts to go for.

The comps for general use in the main.
Might expand my gaming habits to utilise the system, I play stuff like Total War and Civilisation mainly so getting the newest version of those running well would be good. Also any fantasy orientated RPGs that are around these days, using a laptop has left me out of touch with the most recent games.

Also do some photography so photoshop and lightroom working smoothly would be good, also other Adobe products like InDesign which I like to use for Uni work.

EDIT
As sam said, as you'll be upgrading on the way leave the CPU cooler for now and get one when your interested in OC and spend the money else where.

With the money you have saved get a 890GX or an FX mobo as they allow Crossfire with both lanes running @x16. The one in your spec supports Xfire but one lane at x16 and the other at x4.
such as this one

Get this Hard drive as its quick and cheaper (also a forum fav)

Everythin else is good. Maybe spend more on a case so its bigger and will handle more future upgrades.

Cheers.
Unless I'm mistaken that 890GX board does have a GPU so that could be a great option.
If I intended to upgrade to crossfire in the long run I assume I'd need to then upgrade the PSU as well, or would the 500W be sufficient?

Haha, i noticed tht straight away about the GPU. Its the FX tht doesnt hav a intergrated GPU.
Hmm yeah the PSU is no good. PSU depends on what GFX cards you want to XFire... You'll probably need a PSU with 4x6 pin PCie connectors

Does this look better.
First upgrade would then be a graphics card or extra cooling for some OCing.
Later I could add a second card and a new psu.

All compatible?

Thanks for the help so far. Also would this have all the internal wiring I need for the build?
