accident- my turn- now with bodyshop pics woot

had a bump with the vectra taxi today ;(

sky installer van decided to stop in front of me then reverse back for the junction he missed. didnt notice the veccy behind him or the parp on the horn and he managed to skelp the vectra at a fair clip

fair play the guy admitted fault straight away thankfully and did the same to his insurance company whilst i was present so hopefully all will go smoothly.

bad news is the vectra is most definitely unservicable

lookts like she needs a bonnet bumper wing and headlight.

slightly miffed as no taxi - no work- no monies which is pretty rubbish.

i know a vectra elite isnt exactly a brilliant car but its a nice spec with all the toys, hire taxi i'll be recieving, a 200k mile octavia poverty spec as its the only thing they can give me thats plated.

would i be reasonable for me to complain and say that whilst i understand that this is the only vehicle they can give me that i can use for work, i should be entitled to a second vehicle for sdp use that is more inline with my vectra? i really wouldnt want to go pick up family or friends to go out or even visiting with what their offering.

plus side is that i've been told that i can have the car repaired at a garage of my choosing. so at least i know that i can put it somewhere reputable.

one more thing i made a covert recording of all the conversation between myself and the sky van driver and his side of the conversation to his insurance company(god bless voice memo on the generic industry standard smartphone) is this useable if somehow he and his insurance company develop amnesia or will i get told it doesnt count as i didnt tell anyone about it?

rather annoyed as i'm now stuck at home sitting beside the phone waiting on calls rather than getting out to work and hiding from the wife. i feel a massive personal injurcy compo claim coming on for mental anguish of having to stay home with the wife and kids.

no before anyone asks i'm not claiming i appear to have suffered no injuries so i just want my bleeding veccy fixed and pronto )

i've been off the road for 3 1/2 hours and i want to murder someone already

its even worse knowing you have no escapce

and when i you its a manky octavia rental that will no doubt smell of sweat and **** not amused

Down here the cab drivers always end up with a like for like vehicle, i cant understand how you are getting palmed off with a shed.

My pal has got a big cab firm in South London, i just rang him, this is the firm they use.

the problem is that its private hire not hackney so can only get something fitted out with the same radio system i'm on

this case that means hiring off the company that runs the radio system

thanks for the link though mark my insurance company have put me with central cab company and so far i cant say i'm impressed,

i'll give them to lunch time tommorow then tell them to sling their hook.

all i want is put in any motor whatsoever so i can get earning again. I can see this going south pretty quickly at this rate ;(

already happening

been stuck in with the kids tonight and i feel i'm going mad already lol might take the lcr for a blast just to escape lol

expect to see me on here most of tommorow though.

good thign is i've already spoke to my own bodyshop and all being well should be getting her sorted next week

technically it could affect my earnings as the veccy being an elite is classed as executive car (lol i know but remember this is glasgow) means i cant take on any executive jobs as rare as they are)

but am i hell going to pick my mum up at the weekend in a motor thats covered in **** stains and reeks of vomit. i honestly dont see why i should have to slum it in a worse car than my own because some pleb in a sky van decides to be careless.

i expect to get an equivilant to what i have in terms of niceness. not some beat up old heap as thats all they can get a hold of. if that means i end up demanding 2 hire cars than thats their problem. my car is both a workhorse and my social domestic and pleasure wagon. i expect whatever they give me to be capable of filling both roles. and something like their offering is a definate no no

a manky plated skoda for work and something a bit nicer (im thinking an insignia elite or similar for spd use?

I cant see them stumping up for 2 cars, but nothing wrong with trying.

It might pay you to just get one decent non work one, kick back and call it 10 days holiday rather than driving yourself mad getting the hump trying to graft in the skoda shed.

dammit was planning on a hefty working week this week as well (pre trip away with the wife for the wedding anniversary ) perhaps i need to consider what you've said mark

Make damn sure to claim for loss of earnings. You should be able to claim for an average daily rate if you can prove what you would usually earn for the days missed.
