Any body tried AUZENTECH X-Fi Bravura 7.1 Sound Card ? For the price and specks look quit decent card. Will be used for music and gaming. Headphones - Audio-technica ATH-AD700
Thanks

For pure sound quality reviews suggest it's very good due to excellent analogue components. However, you should bear in mind it isn't a full X-Fi chip but actually something closer to an Audigy SE. It's the same chip as the low end Creative Xtreme Audio.

It lacks some CMSS-3d headphone features (like elevation filter) and hardware processing for gaming compared to a full X-Fi. I would steer clear if gaming is your priority. I was very unimpressed by creative cards based on the same chip.

Gaming is not a priority, most of time spending with rendering and with headphones , but I find some time and for COD ;)

I think a cheap Xonar might suit you better. They generally have better sound quality for music than the equivalent priced X-Fi.

I've just been looking into this card as well because Im getting fed up of waiting on the X Fi Titanium HD.

I looked at the Asus Xonar D2X which has everything I'm looking for, minus full X-Fi features and EAX 5.0. Then I came across this one and looked up some reviews, but it seems to be lacking in some areas.

Waiting for a audiophile card for PCI-E sure is taking a very very long time. I want gaming, music and recording fully covered with all the X Fi features, and the nearest thing right now is the Xonar D2X or this Auzentech Bravura.

I'll just have to keep on waiting for the X-Fi Titanium HD :(

Thanks for comments, they was really helpful , I was visiting local Hi-Fi shop and manager just advised me that Auzentech is more universal sound cards then Asus equivalents for the same price, it why I asking in there for some help.

Not all Auzentech cards are created equal. I have an Auzentech X-Fi Prelude, which is excellent but now discontinued. It's a full-spec X-Fi too. How about the Forte?

I will not go crazy with HD :D but this 2 Asus Xonar D2X and Creative X-Fi Titanium are not to bad for price, I believe that ASUS are low profile card ? Any problems with installation ? and how ASUS will handle the games ?

If you'll be using headphones, I'd go for something with a built-in amp unless you have a separate one.

So - Auzentech X-Fi Forte, Xonar Essence ST or STX.

Also perhaps consider the Xonar DG as a low budget option (still waiting for professional reviews of that one though).

Yea thats the thing. The X-Fi HD has all of those ones beat for the price as well. If I'm spending that much on a card, I want it to do everything.

For a max budget of £90 though, the Asus Xonar D2X is the best. It just lacks hardware EAX 5.0 and other X-Fi features that I also want on top of it, plus it doesnt have a headphone Amp.

If X Fi is important, then the normal X-Fi titanium is completely fine.
