When I say budget, I mean budget.

I can build this for around £350:

X3 440 @ 3.0GHz
4GB DDR3 RAM
MSI 770-C45
512MB HD 5670
500GB HDD
DVD RW
450W PSU

Or similar parts.

What do you think? Any good for the low price?

Would 2GB of DDR3 RAM be enough, or stick to 4gb?

Seems good for the price, what's the make / model PSU and hard disc.

i think his first words was "when i say budget, I MEAN BUDGET"

i think that rules out ur push for a stretch.

Haha, it does. It couldnt be used for anything serious even with a quad so I think the tri core should be fine any way. Im hoping the GPU will be able to run most games at a decent rate on a low-medium res.

Would you consider lga775 (intel)? Some great little bargains to be had there, especially if you are planning on OC'ing.

I'd swap the HD5670 for an older gen.
You can get HD4850's for that price and it would wipe the floor with the 5670.
GT240's can be had for that price too, and thats still an improvement :)

Just sold my 5670 on bay. It ran Starcraft 2 medium with some high, dirt 2 in direct X 11 all high bout 40fps (looked nice) and ran Counter Strike Source all high bout 40-50fps depending how many players in game. Mate just gave me 1gb 4870, no direct x 11 but wipes the floor!
