accident- my turn

dammit was planning on a hefty working week this week as well (pre trip away with the wife for the wedding anniversary ) perhaps i need to consider what you've said mark

just take a decent loaner insignia cdti 160 and rob all the good bits off it lol

Thats what i do when something is going to do my head in, just give it up, its not worth having the hump for 10 days trying to graft in the shed.

**** that 12 hours a day or whatever you work in a **** box.

tbh the veccy isnt a bad place to spend a shift seats are comfy with it being non sri trim heated leather for the cold mornings or when the back ache starts kicking in, and i generally keep it spotless so its not a bad place to spend anything up to 16 hours a day.

a manky octy that smells of **** and **** hmmm not on

argh this is bad,

i should be out working, instead i'm sitting here in an empty house bored out my nut :( ffs i need to get out to work before i go insane :(

Well inurancemcompang brought me a work ready vectra hire taxi this morning had a radio installed and they didn't even blink when I asked if I could have the roof drilled I then found out why when I went through the paperwork

This rented 58 plate vectra Sri is being billed at £139+ vat a day

Or £1150 Inc a week

Had my own inspected by vauxhall today repair cost circa £1600 all in so not too bad I guess

Had to laugh the other parties insurance called me yesterday asking about personal injuries etc I asked if they wanted to deL direct rather than go through my insurance or accident management co they said no

He'll mend them I would have sat at home for 600 a week with no hire taxi lol or accepted a £150 a week manly skoda and a small backhander for the inconvenience

couple of pics of the poor vectra :(

hire cost to the other parties insurance fora 2 year old vectra sri. £139+vat a day yes per day so £1150 a week inc vat lol

getting fed up with the complete inability of insurance companies to do anything properly

tried to cut down my bodyshop of choice by saying uncle arnold would do the repair cheaper than they would,

funny that as i got a quote from Arnold clark on friday and my bodyshop undercut them as they had the quote to hand :)

seemingly its common practice for companies to try and haggle prices down with the bodyshops but hearing about them getting caught out lying made me lol

SOooooooooo repair now authorised parts ordered(some on back order though unfortunately :( so all being well back on the road all put right by this time next week .

still a bit miffed as to why the other parties insurance didnt want to deal with me directly as per post 24, as a result i've now got a solicitor looking after me for personal injury claim and uninsured losses. charging £175 per hour:eek::eek:

note to insurance companies if a person hasnt gone to an accident managment company at least open a dialouge and try and work something out, you wont be paying over a grand a week in hire costs. and if a person says they havent instructed a solicitor when you speak to them as above talk to them you might find they are extremely reasonable.

in all honesty i would have settled for a £150 a week rented skoda taxi 2 days lost earnings and something nice for the missus, instead the insurance company is dealing with 2 complete piranhas of companies who are no doubt going to gouge them silly. as bt say its good to talk, and a darn site cheaper. no wonder insurance costs are so high

dropped off at the bodyshop today :)

progress is brisk :)

makes me laugh that insurance companies complain about the rise of accident management companies like helphire

but their employees on the phone virtually force people down that route.

had to lol even more that the insurance company is now hussling the bodyshop for a quick turn around, obviously trying to keep the hire costs down,

bodyshop phoned and asked if i was in a hurry for the car. told them to take their time i think there was some problem with the parts lol :)
