Depends on how much you feel the cold, and of course, how bad our winter is.

Sometimes they're pretty mild.

This, London gets pretty mild winters, it rarely gets below -5C and all you need is your shirt, thin jumper and then a reasonable overcoat (wool is good).

Most cities have a warmer micro-climate than the countryside around it.

Buy a decent coat and you'll be right - jeans/tshirt with coat on is usually warm enough. But I'm Tasmanian so am maybe more used to this weather.

Also, pants means underpants. One assumes you'll be needing more than just pants to work.

Also, darkness is a bit of a pain but not that bad. In the middle of winter it'll be dark about 4/430ish especially if overcast, but it goes away fast enough.

I guess I'll just sign up to all the time-eating MMO's out there for winter and bunker down if I can't handle it lol. Heading to Egypt for chrissy though which should be a tad warmer

I might just use my jacket I have atm, which isn't super thick, and then add to that as necessary probs best not to overdo it now and get all worried about it.

if last year's winter is anything to go by, stay inside at all costs! we had snow and really bad ice for around 1 month constantly, the entire country stopped! reached -16 where i am in hereford.

Employer dependant, some people were forced to use holiday or take it as unpaid. Others were paid by the company.
