Well it does say Windows XP and Vista on the system requirements. Tried loading it in compatibility mode?

Try ALT+TAB a few times worked for me - also getting the resolution set correctly by following the links I posted above. There is also a configuration tool located in the same directory as swkotor.exe which allows you to configure the game without launching it.

I'm also running Windows 7 64-bit so it does work.

Tried that, and the resolution fix.

I've actually been through every step on google to fix it, nothing works, like I say I can get it to load, but now the menu just doesn't work, it kinda like locks up and wont let me select anything.

I'll try again later.
 
When I first loaded the game, the menu came up and wouldn't let me select anything. After alt+tabbing to see if there was a fix the game picked up the right res and has been working fine, well until I lost KB support just as I was leaving the first ship.

You need to use a different .exe file as the steam one is encrypted... I,m waiting for someone else to try it first as i know steam can be funny about modded .exe files.... :cool:
 
Haha, the "Fix" for not letting the menu work was to disable the videos on start-up, what a huge fail. All that time for that.
 
bought this, yesterday, installed it, loads up to the star menu, but when i click to start a new profile, it will load maybe about 20%ish of the loading bar then dump me to desktop, been fiddling about with settings for the past hour and a bit, but getting nowhere, i'm just gonna give up for now, will uninstall/reinstall at the weekend if i have time, oh well no major loss at £1.75:)
 
Bought it yesterday and have put 3 hours or so into it. Quite a good game, similar to Mass Effect and a bit challenging at times.

Windows 7 32bit here and no problems.
 
It's one of the best starwars games I've ever played along with dark forces II. And it's better than that.
 
For all these people having issues, what are the errors in the event log saying??

I had several problems getting this to work but only took 15 mins to fix. I had to update to the 10.8 drivers and download/dump atioglxx.dll in the game folder. hth
