Need a 60" - Can anyone recommend?

LG's quality control concerns me. Though in reality its probably no better than samsungs (or sony!) but the amount of similar issues people are having with new LG plasma's really puts me off. Then again, nothing's perfect - my 50pz80 suffers from a little red bleed. always has done, but it's only noticeable in certain circumstance (red text on a grey background) and never very often.

LG + Phillips do a lot of component sharing. LCD sets use the same panels.

Sharp used to be a massive player in the early LCD days, but never really kept pace. Bush has alwyas been terrible.

Going by this thread over at AVForums, it has lots of issues that would put me right off! So I'll stand by my "piece of crap" comment ;).

if you go by what all the threads say at avforums you wouldnt get a tv,they all have problems ;),p.s i seen the lg setup at currys and had a bit play with it and its not a bad set for what you pay for it

I'd consider refurbs if you don't have a big budget.

Many come with a standard warranty, so providing you get it from a good retailer you're covered just as much as you would be getting a new set.

I'd probably be tempted to tell you to downsize to a decent 50" if you can't stretch past £1500.

At the time of my purchase I tried to get the most reliable/best plasma I could, the reviews from AVForums helped not "decide" what my purchase would be! Only a demo between two plasmas finally sold me.

Thats more or less my suggestion and look at the responses I got.
