There have been a disproportionate amount of people claiming to be dyslexic on these here forums recently.

So if a don could give us a Poll please including the following or similar please:

I have diagnosed dyslexia:
I think I have dyslexia but undiagnosed:
I just can't spell:
I am just lazy:
I am just Stupid:

My spelling and grammar are ok, but I have issues with iPhone predictive typing and a slight leaning toward literacy laziness.

What about you?

Be honest now....

i have diagnosed dyslexia.about 4 years ago, school missed it - but was diagnosed whilst in college

but i seem to get along just fine, its just people who are up there own asses that comment on peoples spelling/grammer on the internet.(unless there is an actuall reason, ill retract that comment)

the only time i "try" to spell 100% correctly is for anything offical, jobs,DVLA forms etc.

I think this forum should instigate a policy of having dyslexics sew a yellow D onto their clothes so they can be easily identified, then a second phase of rounding them up for 'labour' camps can begin!

I am neither dyslexic, nor a poor speller.

I'd actually like to know who here is genuinely dyslexic, so I don't lay into them when I'm on patrol.

Dyslexia rates are 8% in the UK. Unless they are mainly concentrated here I'm going to call bull on a lot of members.

This forum has over 11,000 active members

That means there could be at least 900 active members on here with dyslexia, and thats before we take account of any trending of people with learning disabilities such as dyslexia having other social skill issues meaning they prefer conversing with people on forums as opposed to down the pub.

For what its worth i'm dyslexic, and have been diagnosed as a kid. I use the spell checker in Chromium / Safari to get round most of my spelling issues. One thing it wont do however is solve my problem of my brain thinking one word, but then typing a completely different one, correctly but utterly out of bed, i mean place. If you get my drift ...

Mine got lost in the transition from primary school to secondary school :D yay for the education system. It was picked up upon at College but then forgotten about again.

Mostly because its not really that bad. Usually I put the right letters but in the wrong order.

It did strike me a little odd just yesterday how many times on here I've seen people claim to be dyslexic. I'd bet only half of them actually are and the rest are either lazy or have another learning disability and have either labelled themselves dyslexic through ignorance or have been told they are by someone else who is well meaning but misguided.
