9400gt vs 8800gt alphadog

Hi guys, my mate is currently running a 9400gt (lol) and i have an old 8800gt alphadog edition lying around going to waste. Ive told him ill send it to him for nothing as a kinda little upgrade. But the question is will he notice much of a difference?

There will be a massive difference, more intense than night/day.

He should notice a substantial improvement but the 8800gt also draws 2 times more power so make sure his power supply is up to it.

If your mate plays any games, then he will notice a MASSIVE increase in performance.

His framerates will more than double.

Edit: Scratch that, according to this review it's more like 5 times. Hopefully your mate will appreciate your lovely gift.

he has a 450w psu, that should be enough right? He doesnt know the make coz he knows absolutely nothing about computers

Do you know the make and model number of the PSU?

There is a massive difference between a generic "450W" unit and a 450W PSU from a good brand such as seasonic, enermax, corsiar, antec etc.

The brand name can be found by just opening the case and reading the label on the PSU (assuming it is not a generic one...but probably even should would have a brand name on it).
