Hey guys,
I am getting a steady ticking noise from my PSU.
It is only very quiet and sounds to be honest like a little fleck of paper or dust catching the fan blades but could it be something worse like the bearings,

if so what do I do?
Obviously I will inspect for dirt and dust but it does sound a little mechanical.
It is an 880W Hiper PSU I am not sure of the model right now, came with a PC I bought that was 2nd hand and I'm a bit worried in case it knackers itself.

Thanks

PS sorry for 'PSU0' in the title

sounds like the blades hitting something, maybe even the fan casing if there is enough wobble.

changing the fan in a psu is meant to be dangerous, lots of current remain even after switching off.

if it was me, I would give it a try changing the fan for a replacement, but then I'm a nutter.

Yeah I will be careful. I won't do anything that seems too 'specialist'- I understand PSUs are not even refurbishable officially anyway it clearly says on most 'no user servicable parts'
Might just replace it

Whack the vacuum through it to pull out any dust
it hasnt been used for ages so could be that
