Would anyone care to sponsor me?

It's not really sponsoring, as some of you may know I work on Fairfield Hospital Radio as a presenter, all presenters have to raise £100 for October so if anybody wouldn't mind donating anything at all to the cause I would really appreciate it, so far I have a penny so literally anything from a penny upwards would greatly be appreciated.

I set up a new PayPal account and everything so not to get confused with my own, I haven't even linked it to an account yet as I only have the one account and that's linked to my other account.

The email for this is [email protected], I was surprised that was available actually, if anyone wants to check it first, feel free to email it and I'll reply.

Anything anyone can spare will greatly be appreciated. The radio goes to Fairfield Hospital, Rochdale Infirmary and Springhill Hospice and literally runs purely on donations and some sponsorships, if anyone wants to make a request for a song or whatever that I can play on Monday, or mention them on air or whatever then this is the listening link www.rochvalleyradio.org.uk and I'll gladly play anything you want that we have (and we have a lot).

Thanks for the help, it really does go to a good cause.

it's not really sponsoring though is it, its just a donation towards the radio. And I also do a 2 hour show that takes me around 3 or 4 hours at the minute (I just started) to plan.

If you don't wanna that's fine but it's not like I'm sayin 2 quid a mile for 26 miles or summat is it? 10p or whatever would be great.

When's your deadline, exactly? I have barely enough to survive on right now, but after pay day I can drop you a few quid. I didn't even know the hospital had a radio station to be honest. Any idea how one goes about actually listening to it in the place? I have a short stay coming up... :p

ha, alright mate, surprised there is even anyone in Bury here, you goin in Fairfield? Will you be there on a Monday? Hope it's not too serious.

I'm not too sure how it works because we're not allowed on the wards anymore (and I wasn't there when they were) but there is something called Patientline and it has loads of radio stations and TV etc. but you have to pay for everything except our station and that's channel 1.

Where that is in terms of the bed etc. I'm not sure but I do think that everyone gets their own, to be honest we don't get a lot of listener interaction from patients so I don't know how easy it is. Given most patients are elderly and obviously ill. They do have a dedicated office training staff how to isntruct patients how to use Patient Line though.

My deadline is Halloween I think but they did give everyone all year to get it, I only started a few weeks ago though but i still have to get the whole thing.

let me know when you go in and I can play you a couple of requests and a "shout out" (I hate that term but I can't think of anything other than say your name).

Well, I was supposed to be in on Wednesday but the operation was cancelled due to an emergency. The Patientline thing is on the wall above the bed and it's on a swing-out arm. I didn't really look at it much though, I just sat with my book for a few hours before I was told to get dressed and go home again.

It's not serious, just the removal of a cyst in my neck, but I don't know when I'll be back in. If it's a Monday and I'm conscious at the time, I could have a listen, but at the moment I'm waiting for my op to be rescheduled. Will let you know though, I guess. :)

As for a donation, I get paid way before Halloween, so that's no problem - I'll easily be able to make one. Good luck reaching your total mate :)

thanks very much mate, hope your Op goes well. I'm not too sure the whereabouts of all the wards or whatever, but if you're up and about when I'm on I could show you around if you're interested.

Wow, thanks and thanks. If I'm fit enough at the time, I would like that. :)
