My old but much loved CRT TV went bang last night and I'm considering replacing it with the above mentioned Plasma for £600. Would appreciate it if those of you who know your stuff can tell me if £600 can get me something better? Btw, I think anything above 42 inches would be over kill for my living room.

Panasonic make the best plasma's. The S2 range is a fantastic set. You'll be happy.
 
Thanks for the reassurance. Bought it this morning and have been enjoying it all afternoon. I'm really impressed with it. Is the first time that I've been able to enjoy HD too. :D

I'm with Virgin and didn't realise that I can't get HD with some of the channels such as Sky Sports etc. Is really annoying.
