Sharia Law coming to swimming pools in Australia

Why should everyone have to follow their beliefs?

Fine we'll all cover up if you take holy communion and praise jesus along with buddha and all the other gods. Deal?

No they'd say **** off to that, and so we should to them!

There are far too many things called VCAT to find exactly what it is, but I'm trying to find it.

Took me one search, but YMMV.

It's the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal. who, among other things, deal with disputes between the people and the government.

As usual, the restrictions were proposed by non-Muslims and approved by non-Muslims; there is now condemnation of Muslims from non-Muslims and the only Muslims who have commented are all like WTF because it's nothing to do with them.

But yeah, feel free to keep slamming those intolerant Muslims who didn't ask for this.

It's like a real life straw man - Muslims want to ban bikinis! Um, no they don't, but I appreciate that's an easy argument for you to win.

If i went to a Muslim country would they bend over backwards to pander towards my non Muslim faith? Somehow i think not......

Joke political correctness is a total joke.

Oh dear their delicate sensitivities will be offended by folks uncovered in a swimming pool. Well tough luck, that’s how people go swimming. Stop all this pointless kowtowing to ridiculous minority interests. If they don’t like it then they know what they can do.

You've already posted in this thread, I can't believe you've forgotten or is obvious troll obvious?

Actually, Muslims didn't agree with the proposed rule change.

Oh what's the point. I give up.

So why don't they ask these people to stop speaking for them. Or is there another agenda?

Damn a pool for being customer focused for a single event!!! How dare they think about the desires of the target audience when coming up for rules for an event!!!

IT'S AN OUTRAGE!!!!!!!111111oneonetwopenguin!

They have hired out a swimming pool for two hours to enjoy it however they want to, they can do what they like just like everyone else can, they are not forcing people off the street to put on a full bathing suit and join in. Anyone can do anything so long as it doesn't adversly affect others.

It wasn't so long ago that us "whites" would be wearing the same sort of clothing to go swimming, so let them catch up in their own time.

Well, I would be outraged too, particularly if I were a member of the target audience and none of us actually wanted the rules changed for our event.

Why go as far as placing an outright ban on normal swimwear in a swimming pool, just because its being booked for an Islamic event when no one even asked for it?

How does wearing normal swim wear in a swimming pool affect others to the point that it should be banned for a couple of hours during a religious thing?
