I7 project build end of month and first on my shopping list is the cooler. I've read a few reviews of the below products (Some of which seem very manufacturer biased), but I still can't decide which cooler would be the best option to replace my trusty old TRUE120, possible replacements been >

Anyone care to share opinions or even first hand experience of the above coolers, such as mounting design quality and overclocked temp/voltage performance? :) Will be using 2000rpm fans attached to Zalman ZM-MFC1 fan control.

Your current TRUE will still be a good enough cooler for an i7 rig, this is what i currently have on mine, though ive ordered the prolimatech super mega which im hoping will fit.

All good choices can't go wrong with any of them to be honest

Ive just got a thermal right hr02. Will be fitting it this weekend

Theres a newer bracket design for the i7 system socket, not the x clamp style used on s775, on my i7 at 4ghz, the max temps im hitting under LinX/IBT are, 76-71-72-70, prime 95 small fft is about 5-6c lower per core.

New style 1366 bracket.

I thought that myself when i first got it, but it is extremely sturdy, unlike the x clamp which needed washers yet the cooler still moved about.:D

^Tbh that looks just as flimsy to me, still cheers for heads up. :)

Wonder if it's smaller overall than NH-D14, will check it out thanks!

Of the 3 coolers you suggested, only the Noctua will be better so I'd keep the TRUE but if you really want to upgrade, then definitely consider the Silver Arrow. Check the link in my sig for some picture comparison of the Silver Arrow and thw NH-D14.

i had a titan fenrir,a coolit eco alc which is roughly the same as the corsair h50.i now have the noctua and my temps are 10c lower than the others.deffo the noctua but make sure it will fit with your ram

NH-D14 does appear to have the most height clearance out of the coolers mentioned despite it's size, along with Noctua website having a decent list of motherboard compatibility. Memory wise I'll be buying some standard heatsink variety for I7. :)
