well ive just been cut out of my car a few days ago and now need a replacement for my focus...but id like to upgrade a little bit.

i know its not a massive budget. so needs, 5 door, cruise control would be nice. would like mp3 radio but I know that's just fluff.

other must is a tow bar.

I like this...seems a lot of car for the money

but open to ideas.

Mondeo they tick all of your boxes.
The car that you linked is a 3.0 V6 and whilst quick will be very thirsty.

Mondeo. If you're looking at 5 doors, youre quite limited unless you want an estate. Towbars can be fitted after, id personally prefer one without and fit it myself

ok, its just what i found..plus with towing...thought it would be beneficial.

If it was my 6k i would just grab the best Mondeo i could find.

That wasnt very clear what i said before, i didnt mean why buy a Skoda i meant why bother with the 4x4 version.

I do love the way people say "so basically and audi" everytime they say Skoda, that's why I wouldn't buy a Skoda :)

It is a shame how some owners get wood when they see the four rings stamped into that back of a component.

I find it quite funny when people have a little dig at my Skoda, gets a bit of banter going but I hate it when people say that "Its basically a VW isn't it."

As for where I would put £6k... I hate to sound like a sheep but it would probably be on a Mondeo for your requirements. Although, you haven't said what you will be towing but I am assuming a caravan.

its only a trailer...but yes we will be thinking a caravan in the future. cant really afford to join the land rover/bmw 4x4 brigade so i guess ill have to buy a mondy...hey ho. ok then challenge time...best mondy on the market atm for £6k?

£6k is a funny figure for a Mondeo. It's not quite enough to get a good spec and well looked after current shape model, but it's too much to spend on a previous shape one unless it's an ST220.

Have you looked at the Honda Accord? The estate version is cavernous. £6k will get you a tidy 2005/6 2.4 or 2.0 Executive.

.

If your going to buy a Skoda be a man about it, everyone knows they share parts you don't have to justify your decision every time you speak to someone by banging on about it being an Audi ;)

Been driving a company pool Octavia estate a fair bit recently and it's OK. It's nothing remotely interesting, the mondeo does a much better job of being something you can enjoy driving, but it gets the job done. Interior isn't quite in the vw league and not even close to Audi so don't fool yourself otherwise. Saying that, this one has done pretty huge mileage and hasnt had an easy life, but it still feels solid and doesn't rattle or squeak
