Does the Scythe Shuriken BIG clear memory slots?

I'm looking at fitting the Scythe Shuriken BIG Quiet Low Profile CPU Cooler to an mATX m/b and fitting in 4 sticks of memory, does anyone know if this CPU fan and heatsink clears the memory?

I don't want to buy it all and find that I can only install 2 sticks of memory.

The m/b is the Gigabyte GA-880GMA-UD2H AMD 880G, and the memory Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit.

I want the low profile fan as I'm hoping to fit it all into a Lian LI V351B.

Cheers

Same board and same Cooler, and a big no it doesnt,

in fact trying to fit my 2x2gb of OCz Reapers was a very difficult task in the small form case!

Looks like I'll have to trawl through the SFF forums again then to find an alternative.

I'm after something that will fit in a V351B, so any suggestions would be welcome.

Case size isnt the problem the Scythe cooler blades and heat pips actually hang over into teh two closest slots, the case wont help that any.

You could try the Shuriken Rev B. I saw a build log with one of those on a mini ITX board, and 2GB of RAM. I posted a link about it on the SFF forum, in a thread about the PC-Q07 case. Will try and dig out the picture.

ETA: Found it - http://extreme.pcgameshardware.de/t...n-li-pc-q07-zotac9300-itx-kleines-update.html - That's on a mini ITX board, so if the distance looks similar, you should be ok.

That's great thanks for the link, it looks like the smaller fan and slightly smaller heatsink profile allows it to fit.

I'll give that one a try, and place fit it before installation, that way I can always return it.

There doesn't appear to be too many CPU coolers that are short enough to fit a SFF case, yet big enough to clear all the memory slots.

My order goes in next week so fingers crossed.

Did it work

I have the same case and mobo and am looking to replace my stock HSF. What was your final solution and how did it work out for you.

Thanks
