The pope. Popeing about.

Some of the stuff in these last few posts would make a good script for a Punch & Judy show, I can't get my head round some of the stuff you believe in.

some of you claiming to be agnostic is like saying 'I don't believe in god but if there is one I don't really mean it ' it's like being afraid to come out of the closet & admit to being an Atheist :p

I can truly say that if the pope got shot while giving his pathetic speeches I would smile. I truly do believe that the majority of the catholic hiraky (spelling?) should be in prison or on the gallows and consider it to be a crime against humanity that they haven't at least been put to trial for the crimes. Claiming that condoms spread aids is effectively murder in my eyes. Though I think murder is nicer then a slow death via aids. Not to menchen harbouring and hiding known child rapists because you can't put the clergy in front of a court. I'd love to know why to be honest.

Normally I couldn't care less about spellings, but your response really made me laugh.

Someone who spells "mention" menchen and hierachy "hiraky" is obviously a turd at the best of times and whose opinion is to be ignored along with radical Catholics/atheists/morons.

I wasn't aware that making two spelling mistakes made me a retard. Especially one who is dyslexic amongst other problems that contribute to it. Quite frankly I don't think the two spelling mistakes were a huge deal. Nor do I consider hierarchy to be an easy to spell word. WHICH YOU SPELT WRONG. RETARD.

Nor do I believe to be stating facts and my opinion on them to be radical.

So kindly **** off and die because quite frankly, you're pathetic.

Because afaik there is nothing in the bible where god made someone commit a sin to make them the better man

But he wasn't committing a sin.
Has a 14 year old boy he was drafted into something that was mandatory and wasn't a very good member.
Sky Fairy knows his future and would have set this up.

Absolutely superb - 5 stars

Why did you assume I'm religious?

I'm actually agnostic, but that doesn't mean I can't argue for others to have the right to their own beliefs.

Seriously, how can you quote a section of my post where I clearly state I'm aiming my comments at those who fall into the category of 'the religious believer', then say you're not one of them and still think I was talking about you?

This 'debate' is flawed on every level. It comes down to believe what the hell you want, just don't impose it on others. Or talk about it in polite company ;)

No he is just one of the people in the SEN group.

Ahaha. /facepalm

Let me guess. It was a 'typo'? Sorry, I can't hear you replying because I'm ignoring you along with all the radical Catholics/atheists/morons. :D

As for the latter part of this 'debate', believing in God doesn't require a belief in Lucifer, especially given the mythological (and cross-cultural) origins of this particular little dark ages control mechanism. That's coming from someone who doesn't not believe in God, too. :p

Which is about the best pro-religion argument I've heard. I think that says it all.

Religion was extremely useful in peasant days. Especially the Islamic religion. But what that is saying is the religion was teaching peasants common sense. Now we don't need religion to teach that because everything comes with pretty labels and signs.

No he is just one of the people in the SEN group.

Huh?

What on Earth are you on about man? If that's the extent of your understanding of religion and its works, no wonder you're an atheist. :p

I don't think it's me who doesn't understand religion.

Religion is a form of control which was designed primarily to keep the peasants in line. For instance, if you are bad you will go to hell. Simple but effective way of something someone from committing murder for example.

The more common sence bits you ask?

Islam:

Washing in particular is very important in it and peasants were filthy buggers.

The draining of blood as soon as the animal is killed helps preserve the meat.

Don't eat pork - pork in particular is very risky when reheating etc and is just safer not to eat at all when you are cooking over fire etc etc.

Religion was then adapted to be used for war or to collect money or to bully countries into doing things. This was largely the catholic church. After all, if religion is about spreading the word of god, why were millions of people burned on a rack for owning a bible in english? Their own mother tongue...a language they could read?

As I said, it's not me who doesn't understand religion.

Think for a second here. Look at a few religious "laws" (whatever the religion may call them), nearly all of them are great ways to keep tribal people under control, and what better way to enforce them than with supernatural fear?

Most food related religious rules apply to foods that would not have kept for long, thanks to the invention of fridges they are now irrelevant. No sex before marriage, a great way of controlling the population and reproduction of your tribe. They were created to keep tribal people in line, and easy to control. Thanks to modern day laws, and improvements in general knowledge and technology, most are now irrelevant.

Edit - Beaten like a ginger stepchild. :(
