Successful completion of Academic Year

The Board of Examiners recently met to consider your performance during the past
academic year and I am pleased to confirm that you have met the progression criteria
to enable you to progress to the next stage of your degree course

Letter I got this morning:

I have recently recieved notification of your reassessment results. You have not met the requirements for the course. Unfortunately we are not able to offer you your other choices.

I am sorry to inform you that we have been unable to accept you.

Well obviously I'm going to phone them (no answer when I just tried). I didn't meet the requirements for my first choice of course but I did for the others, now they are "unable to offer" them. Can this be right? Surely I was mislead.

This sounds more like you have passed your first or second year at uni rather than being accepted for a course. Are you sure this email was meant for you?
