Gaming headset

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SP-091-CL is good & comfy if you can stretch the budget a bit.

i have these, there are an excellent piece of kit, essential for any gamer i should think ;). bought mine for the same price, but from else ware, as i didnt used to pruchase things from overclockers, however they are really really good, comfy on the ears, comfy head rest, easy to set up, 3.5mm jacks, not usb, and come with a detahcable microphone, the selling point of these, so you can use them for basic music, or for ventrilo/teamspeak and skype, great all-rounder, exepcially for the price.

I avoided them precisely because of the removable mic - I don't want to be digging around behind the PC trying to work out where I left it.

The plantronics are also lovely and bassy and the mic folds back so it's flush with the headband when not in use. Both get good reviews but that was the decider for me.

Thanks for the opinion guys.. my only concern is the pressure they exert on your head during prolonged gaming sessions (I wear glasses as well ). Will this be an issue with the creative?

I have a Plantronics 777, basically the bigger brother of the 377 recommended here and it's brilliant, and very comfortable (I also wear glasses). I used to have the Fatal1ty before it broke after a year, it was OK, but was nothing in comparison to the Pantronics, with build quality etc. Both are comfortable for long gaming sessions but the Plantronics more-so.

I'd definitely think twice about getting the Fatal1ty.

I had a look at the 777s. They seem a bit bulky to me in comparison to the Fatal1ty. Is the sound quality significantly better in the Plantornics?

I'm a member of the "specs" club too and can quite happily wear the creative's for hours on end :D

Used to have those Creatives, they're perfectly fine for short gaming sessions but after a while the small cups really do put some strain on your ears. Although I'm talking watching movies or blitzing an addictive single player game. :D

I had a set of an earlier version of those Creative headphones, and yes, they're incredibly uncomfortable if you wear glasses due to the tightness of the phones putting pressure on the glasses arms. I had to sell them to a friend. I couldn't use them.

I've been a big fan of the Speedlink Medusa 5.1's but I've had several sets over the years, and individual speakers tend to break after a while. The more recent versions have poorer sound quality than the first sets I had too.

I personally own these, brilliant for the price, fold away mic is a great feature, good sound quality and they are really comfortable even for long periods of time, more so than these that I also own.

Another glasses wearer here with a set of 777s.

As comfortable as anything i have had so far and certainly the most robust.

Sound seems fine to me too.
