Like I said, as much as I love Gervais that is exactly what happened and shouting for the 'dance' saved him.
Somebody like Peter kay or Michael McIntyre would have had them rolling talking about something that happened 2 minutes ago.
It's horses for courses though and Gervais is brilliant at what he does and not impromptu performances where he hasn't had time to script it.
 
Found him funny in parts of the Office, especially the one where he started playing the guitar at that company meeting and the organiser was getting so annoyed he left :)

I always did think it was an odd move for him to go into stand up. I can't help but think it was down to Merchant doing in standup but that's just a guess.

I was blown away by how funny he was in Animals, then I felt like each standup show after did get progressively worse but still okay. I saw him live in New York recently (FAME - Out Of England) and it was easily his best standup yet but being there live probably amped up the hilarity a little.

I think his scripted stand up is superb and watched them over & over but he did fail big time at Live 8 because it wasn't his domain.
 
Gervais is reasonably talented, but he has been so overrated his ego is now the size of a small ex-soviet republic.

I found the Office a clever idea, but it was far too repetitive in its set up and full of obvious cringe worthy scenes for my tastes.
 
Finally caught the preview show. Has the potential to be funny, but Gervais screaming with laughter at everything Karl says was way over the top.

Oh, and generally i think Gervais is a ****** :D
 
Just realised why I hadn't heard of Science. I'd seen the Frankenstein poster around for a while but it looks like this puppy is out next month.

Go on... pop up onto his knee. HAHA!
