Tyson vs Mohammad Ali - Who'd Win?

Unfortunately its an argument that will never be settled.

I love Muhammed Ali, smokin' Joe and George Foreman, i love the era and i love watching and rewatching the fights, but i still have the feeling that tyson in his prime would have beaten any of those 3 in their primes.

I have never seen anyone so unrelenting and brutal as tyson was.

In a way he reminds me of how naseem hamed was in his heyday, hitting with quality shots from any angle of his choosing and showing strength that still leaves me questioning where it came from.

Having watched them all I think Tyson is overrated, in their prime Ali, Holmes, Foreman and maybe, even Frazier, would have beaten Tyson.

A lot of boxing fans will tell you that Tyson isn't even in the top 10 heavyweights of all time. Im not sure i agree with that, but i don't think he's top 5.

Can people post up some more vids of great boxers and fights please? Some great vids already posted.

Pretty sure I saw a Jones Jr video via this forum section ages ago too.

Tyson I think.

Watching videos of him fight he is just so aggressive, fast and punches hard and can take a beating too.

Perhaps he doesn't have the reach or stamina but in his peak he definitely had the skill.

Muhammad Ali v Cleveland Williams, 1966.

Mike Tyson v Larry Holmes, 1988.

Watch Holmes' jab, even at 38 it was still almost too quick to see. 10 years previously, he would have jabbed Tyson into next week.

Marvin Hagler v Thomas Hearns, 1987.

Ali is my no 1, Hagler is my no 2. He was just awesome.

This is arguably the best middleweight fight of them all. Both men hated each other.

I couldn't say who would win as I have no idea but keep those videos coming, they are great to watch :D I've spent a good hour or two watching boxing on youtube because of this thread :p

The best fighter of all time was Sugar Ray Leonard, who DID beat Hagler, no matter what people say, by two rounds in my book. I do admit to being biased, but I have watched the fight a few times and tried to be totally impartial and Hagler couldn't cope with Ray.

Leonard is my number 1 and Holmes my number 2.:)

Have to agree with Big Kev Sugar Ray would be at the top of my list.

As for videos, cant link as at work right now. However watch some of the Eubank vs Benn fights. Not a great advert for the technical side of boxing however just watching the desire to win from both men and the all out war they get into is great.

What about Ray Robinson, he's usually considered the greatest p4p ever. I haven't seen many of his fights though other than a few with Lamotta.

Ray Leonard was a great boxer, I grew up watching Hagler, Hearns & Leonard. I was a Hearns fan, but Leonard & Hagler were better, although I felt Hearns got robbed against Leonard in the second fight. Leonard even latter admitted that Hearns should have been given the nod in that one.

Also Leonard ducked Aaron Pryor if I remember correctly, even went to a different division to avoid him. He was something special too.
