I'm getting the new FTTC broadband on friday and i'm looking at getting a new router as my Draytek 2710n can't be used so i have been told, now i have looked at the 2110n as well as the 2820n but not sure on what one to go for.

the 2110n would be ok but it doesn't have any gigabit ports where as the 2820n has one but how important is gigabit to the home user, all i want to use is my imac, ps3 and printer and some wi-fi

just seen that for £8 more i could get the 2920n over the 2820n so is the 2920n worth spending an extra £75 on over the 2110n ?

Gigabit will make no difference to anything Internet related.

If you're in the habit of shifting large files between your machines then Gigabit can make a significant difference (but not a 10 x difference).

If the only feature of the 2920n you’re interested in is the Gigabit then it’s unlikely to be worth the extra. Look at getting a separate Gigabit switch instead.

Why are you only looking at Draytek kit? There’s nothing much wrong their kit (have installed it myself at client sites), but it is aimed squarely at small businesses rather than home users (relatively expensive and about as user friendly as a kick in the head).

i did order the 2920n last night but i change my order to a 2130n instead which should work ok with FTTC
