anybody here have diabetes?

Wow... so everyone that is diabetic is a porker?

Way to tar people with the same brush.. that's what, the second time you've made sweeping generalisations today?

Yup got it when I was 7 now 26 doesn't change your life much (Depends on what type though) just have to keep an eye on your diet and anything sweet is pretty much of limits if it's well managed then you have no worrys hard at first but once you get on top of it, it is easy to live with.

P.S I'm not fat lol 10st'4 and 5'8 :D

Oh Type 1 here :(

Type 2 diabetes = generally obese and/or elderly people tend to get this type.

Type 1 diabetes = genetic, or unknown cause if not genetic.

Why do so many people take the bait?

Because its a downright insulting sweeping statement made my someone who clearly has no knowledge of the subject matter.

In answer to the OP, my dad's had it since early teens - it doesn't really affect his life on a day to day basis, as it's well managed, its all about finding the right balance and learning about your body's tolerances.

Note to anyone wondering, if someone collapses with a hypo, ignore the stupid bint in the corner screaming "oh my god, give him his insulin!" :rolleyes" - because it'll more that likely kill them. :p

Lol always give sugar/lucozade it will either bring em out or just push sugar levels up more but I'd rather have high sugar than die  :D :p

Not sure you will get many people who will admit to being a porker.

Just a little advice, You don't have to take it. start being smarter with your replies in threads, I can place about 5 responses from you today on these forums that have made you out to be quite the troll and if you're not trolling then quite an ass. Generally those sorts of people get suspended after they carry it on over and over, daily.

More than likely they will have a meter on them, so call an ambulance and then check their levels before doing anything.

Been in that situation before where I arrived to find the ex barely awake and the friends just feeding the ex lucozade, her meter was reading 30+ when I got to her and she spent the night at the hospital...

Don't worry about him, he's a previously banned member who trolls every sub-forum he posts in. His trolling rarely hides his utter ignorance of whatever thread he's posting in. I suppose it helps him pass the time or something?

Hope he GTFO soon :)

Type 1 diabetic for a few years now (and not a porker, btw :p)

Limits your food somewhat, but if well controlled not too bad. Bit of a pain having to be so careful with food and constant injections, but you get used to it.

No idea what caused it to be honest, as no one else in my family that I know of is a type 1 - I always blamed myself for too much partying and alcohol/drug cocktails but could have happened without that I guess.
