Final Fantasy XIV - Who's going to play?

If it's anything like FFXI, which went the "universal" server route too (JP/US/EU playing together), they'll probably be in Japan.
@Topic, giving FFXIV a miss. I used to laugh at my WoW playing friends who criticized FFXI's slow combat, massive travel times, etc. but honestly... the amount of time wasted in that game for no reason was just horrendous. If I'm going to achieve nothing by playing an MMORPG, I want to do so at a faster rate than both games allow.

- All servers (bar Chinese servers) are international and based in Japan.
- Combat is not turn-based like old Final Fantasy games. If I had to compare it to a previous game then its kind of a cross between FFXII + FFXI but much more action oriented.
- CE you get a journal/artbook, map, tumbler, random-password key-generator thingy, 8 days early play, and an ingame item called "Onion Helm" which lowers the time of weakness your character suffers from after dying.
- We dont know anything about PVP but it will be there is some form.

Yep it looks like Trabia for the LS. Visit our site here: www.lionhearts-ffxiv.co.uk and go to the recruitment part of the forum and post a little application about yourself. Doesn't need to be personal or anything, just a little about your prev MMO experience (if any) and game preferences. Also mention that Kesh (Liu) recommends you and it'll go through no prob
Sorry about that, it something we do to stop kids or moaners from wrecking the place, everyones really laid back (if not a bit crazy which you'll find out soon enough)

Yes, if you also created a character on an open beta server and use the same server again for retail; the character name you used is reserved.
Character creation data can also be used, it's saved in My Documents and should default to it when you install the retail.
I will be playing and my Linkshell from NTSC-uk, assuming nothing changes in the next couple of days, will be on Istory.

My CE is on the way as I type, unfortunately I'm working silly hours this week so won't be on much till the weekend.
As for server I was on Lindblum for the OB, don't know whether to stay there or start in a new place. As of yet I have no LS sorted, so kind of a free agent

Most of our players play in the evening due to work and you'll usually find that someone is doing leves and putting a party together (usually me

I didn't play alpha, but in open beta I found the camera views fine on both mouse and my Xbox 360 pad.
I can only assume the open beta has drastically improved the mouse/kb controls then.
When I played, the mouse/camera system was the single worst I've ever encountered. When you moved the mouse, the camera would go into a free spin. If you tried to correct the movement, you'd just end up spinning the other way. Added to that it had horrific lag on the mouse pointer.
The standard response at the time for anyone requesting help on the forums was "use a 360 pad, it's the only way to play". Now I've no objection using a pad for the right types of game, but for an mmo that I'm trying to play on a PC? No thanks.
