It'll work fine. The benchmark does not reflect real ingame performance at all.

With my specs (see sig) I can turn everything on max, including AA 16x CMSAA (or whatever its called) and it runs smoothly and perfectly playable. The only thing I turn off in the settings is Ambient Occlusion because it absolutely destroys performance, no matter even if you have the greatest PC money can buy. Also its hard to tell the difference when you do turn it on. IMO it made shadows look WORSE.

Also whats this about a 6gb patch!? Thats pathetic, dont read into that ****.
 
According to the scale you will beable to run the game on default settings, to be honest ive seen some really mixed results from the benchmark, i dont think its that accurate.

And i hope your right about the 6gig patch!

Okay cool, thanks for replying. I'm running 5850 1gb, 4gb Geil Ultra and Phenom II x4 965 (all stock) on Windows 7-64 bit. I'll take your advice on the Ambient Occlusion!
 
Nicely. Patched, payment info and codes set up. Just need the servers to go live now.

Oh by the way, Eggyoke, had a look at the LS webby, but it says 'if you wish to join the Linkshell please make a post in the Recruitment section of the public forum'. But click on the forum button, and it says there are no forums defined.
 
Hmmm, cant quite remember but I think you need to register to access the registration forum. Then an admin will come along and welcome you to the forum once you write a little application. You'll then have full access to the forums. Sorry I know its a bit of a pain :P

Hopefully you'll find its worth it though. I think we'll be sorting out an ingame meet so that everyone can get a pearl from the Linkshell leader.
 
are you kidding me? it required 6GB on the My Documents drive to install?!

I have a bloody SSD with only 4gb free space and nothing left to delete?!

Not sure I understand what you're saying. Did you expect the game to be under 4gb's in size? Or do you mean the installer has reserved extra unused space on your HDD?
 
I think he means that it just dumps 6gb of stuff in your my documents folder for some reason?

If that's the case you can move your my documents folder to another drive, just google it.

It installs stuff into my documents no matter where you chose to install, thats what hes complaining about.

You have to go to the directory you installed the game in and open FFXIV Config, Details and Controller options are all there
 
all sorted, now just need to get my onion helm.. can someone tell me the page the code needs to be entered because the link on the page doesnt work :)
 
You enter the code for the helm in the same place as you enter your registration code, on the members account screen. Ignore the address printed on the flyer.
 
I pre-ordered this from Amazon before my girlfriend. She received a dispatch email at 11:30am Saturday and the game turned up on Monday, I got a dispatch email at 3pm yesterday and the game hasn't turned up.

I walked round the corner to the delivery office and the guy had the parcel but wouldn't give it to me because they haven't tried to deliver it yet and I therefore don't have a card. Apparently it had only just been delivered to them.

There are a few other people reporting that the orders they placed with Amazon had dispatched at midnight last night, and consequently haven't turned up (some having ordered months in advance of my GF). Don't think I will pre order any more games with them.
