i saw this news on a site i do my sim racing on and as i see there is a lot of feedback here about the F1 2010 game i thought i should share.

im assuming most of use are in the UK and this news wont effect us but there will be people who get caught out.

That's a poor show tbh, not everyone goes to websites and such before buying games, loads of people will simply install, sign up, error. I believe Jersey had issues with this in the past. Lucky I read this thread. It's annoying when GFWL say they "don't support it" well fine, don't support it but let us play, if we have problems then it's our fault.

I think its bad its going to use GFWL keys as pirated copies will be aloud to be played online right?, this game deserves all the money it can get.

No, if you pirate a GFWL game you use a Offline account to save game, as far as i know you still need a valid CD-key to play online.

This is ancient old news, people in the countries affected by this can still play the game, just not MP. Obviously not ideal, but not the end of the world.

well you could just use a gta4 key or theclub key , they are windows live games

Just because Half Life 2 is a steam game doesn't mean i can use the Serial Number in any other steam game, does it? Obviously that's not going to work, think about it.

i have read many times that you just state you are in a country which is supported when signing upto gfwl if want to play multiplayer if you from country that is not supported

And for all the people who are not aware of this when signing up are just going to be left out to dry. If they don't support your country then clearly they don't support your country, regardless of whether or not you are claiming to be in another. The fact they still support you only if you claim to be from another country is whats ridiculous. And people wonder why GFWL is hated when you have to jump through stupid hoops like that.

loads of GFWL keys can be used on most GFWL games they arent tied to a single game for the majority of them and some website was giving away free GFWL keys for some game years ago so many people got dozens of GFWL keys that work on almost any GFWL game

Wait... what? Are you telling me after all the crap about piracy, GFWL use the same keys for multiple games?

That site is not safe. I REALLY REALLY don't understand why Microsoft are trying to push GFWL, it is poor in comparison to steam, nobody cares for it. LET IT DIE ALREADY. If microsoft want to help PC gaming like they said they did they'd close it and support steam but my guess is they don't care.

i cant remember what game it was but some polish or russian website was giving away the game via a GFWL key and you could get multiple keys so loads of people have dozens of them and they work on almost any GFWL game

Oh look, another non-issue!
This and the boxes come with a warning anyway!! you can get around it by using another county on your gamertag as its does not perform an IP check.

MS stopped people using the same key a long time ago. GFWL will if anything help PC gaming as it prevents piracy more than Steam as no way to play without a legal serial number online & ZDPP + SSA help to limit this further by tying the serial number to the single gamertag. PC gaming needs all the sales it can get right now :(

Its not perfect by a long way but then neither is Steam. I think MS should just rethink & concentrate on the Achievements only as that is the most popular aspect of it & its only a matter of time before they buy Valve anyway (divide & conquer:rolleyes:). MS know making the PC more relevant is going to hurt the 360 a lot which is why I think they do not care much for it right now....

Yes it was sega giving away theclub keys , i got 1 and ive been able to use it on other GFWL games..., so this seems easy for the pirates to play online which i dont agree with, it should be using standard keys to auth with the server you see in most good games ..
