Ok so i took my car in for its MOT a few weeks back and the garage said it had a oil leak from the sump.So i have had the sump replaced costing me £160 now its leaking more oil than it was before so have taken it back in to be checked out and now being told its a seal near the gearbox where its leaking from and would cost £100 to replace.

Wondering what i should do along the lines of complaning due to been told that sump was leaking and nothing else

Why did you need to replace the sump itself? The sump gasket would be much more at fault, unless metal can suddenly spring leaks..

Take the car somewhere else tbh.

Dont know much about cars and few friends recommended them so gave them a shot. Proberly goona be using elsewhere from now on tho

My wifes old punto leaked from the sump many moons ago. Had corroded through. Grinder with wire brush, bit of filler and red oxide - like new ;)

My wifes is leaking also. Will have to go with your advice. I was after to replace sump, but if you sort this out this way I give it a go.

My wife's first car (Vauxhall Corsa) sump rusted through, but the idiots at the garage replaced the gasket and put the rusted sump back on. Needless to say they refunded the first invoice and did the job properly the second time.

FIRE engine? The sump can't be removed in tact.

Either they misdiagnosed the leak as the sump, or your car needs maintenance and your complaining about what your car costs. I think you could get this current job done cheaper if you try, but not by much.
