Tuna in a tin

thing is people tend to worry like "omg this tuna is not fresh, reduced omega 3 etc" (no offence to op) but then they accomdate their lunch/dinner with crisps, chocolate bars, 1% low fat yogurts, smoothies for 1 in 5 a day etc.

To be that fussy regarding the freshness and omega 3 content, then you'd know the macro breakdown of the food you eat alongside the tuna and the majority of people will realise how they've destroyed the healthiness of the meal they thought it had - that is if your going for a 100% healthy meal and care about every last macro breakdown of everything they eat.

Again, no offence to anyone! Just thought i'd mention to not be that fussy unless your that fussy with everything you eat (i.e: know all macronutrient breakdown of everything you eat)

Animals are used for food, there's only so many ways you can be 'humane' when catching and killing something. Predictions are not fact, especially when made by those with a vested interest. If you want to look at cruelty and a topic of the day, have a little campaign against those that require halal meat, see where that gets you.

To be fair, I have no issues with eating any animal, as long as reasonable methods are used and it tastes good.
It's not really about humanity with fish. The problem is most animals are farmed, so their numbers are controlled. Fish are wild and their numbers are only regulated by how fast they breed, which is not as fast as they are fished. In most cases if you stop fishing them their numbers replenish, but in the case of cod and tuna they have been fished to the point that their numbers will never recover.

Its kind of depressing that sheer human greed has overcome these creatures.

Its been obvious to anyone with a brain that stocks are literally decimated and we should have managed the situation better from years ago rather than now.

However, its the Japs that are the biggest culprits.

Thing is...If we stop eating the tuna on the shelves. It's still going to be on the shelves, We make no difference. So coming here saying we should be ashamed for eating it and do we not realise what's happening in the world. We know, We just won't stop eating it because it changes absolutely zero to do so. Plus I need it to make my muscles Badass

If it's me or the fish, I choose me. Unless you can give me another reason fish exist. Selfish ? Probably in some people's eyes, but then I'm not willing to bow down to fish overlords just yet.

You seem to have a fetish for fish. O.o

Lots of sheer ignorance in this thread. There is no excuse.

Bluefin Tuna has essentially been fished to extinction, the only ones left are the tiny Skipjack Tuna, and these are disappearing fast.

Within only a few years, its predicted Bluefin will be extinct, along with Skipjack also.

The way the Tuna are fished with enormous purse nets is disgusting. You can see them all terrified and clamouring to get out as the net squeezes them tighter and tighter.

But hey, as long as you have a smelly sandwich along with your "fashionable" sushi then who cares right??

But doesnt quite compare to your sheer ignorance on all other things eh Tango....

Well not as such.

I just have real sympathy and a big love for animals.

They were here first and have just as much right as us.

Humans are past the "oh but we must kill everything to ensure our survival" stage, so to continue to decimate nature in the way we do is really depressing and selfish. :(
