Those steam figures kind of backup his point really. I mean peak of the top game was 60,000 people. I was playing Halo Reach last night and it had 560,000 people online. Console Figures dwarf PC and thats just a fact. I only ever use my PC for MMO's or the occasional other games. Big title games available cross platform i almost always play on the 360 as the experience online is just so much better imo.

Im sorry but this needs to be said;

Dont forget, all the sheep on xbox have most likley all bought halo reach and have left there other games. i can gaurantee all other games will be empty on xbox live right about now.

I know for a fact that trying to get an online game on a 1 year old xbox game is nearly impossible these days.

And dont forget these are just steam statistics, imagine games which arent covered on steam such as WOW.

But unfortunatley my friends we are now living in a world full of greedy pigs who want to milk as much money as possible, with games being released half complete only to release download content on release date.

Heck i remember back in the day when these download contents were free and Games using the same enginer were sold as expansions.

Because of console gaming we are coming to a point where we dont need to upgrade our pc's hardware as much because quite simply our computers are way ahead of times in terms for gaming.

Developers are starting to get annoyed with consoles limitations, Our current pc's will be just as good as the next gen consoles.

Ive gone off consoles now and ive gone back to pc and i can say im glad i made this choice, games are more immersive and more relaxing and generaly more fun.

Do not stick up for console fans because they are the ones killing the pc gaming market. And before you know it we will have all ports.

The other thread was locked for a reason, and that reason wasn't for you to continue it here.

Still irrelevant, and the mods won't tolerate it regardless whether you took the time to write up a post.

no pirates are killing the pc market...

developers dont want a next gen console...they are happy making games with what they have, they are not getting annoyed by the limitations at all, if anything they couldnt care less about making a game sparkly just bc mr billy decided to waste £400 on a gpu to grow his epee.......

oh and i like halo reach its a kickass game..........

/thread.

NOTE: i dont know what was discussed in the last thread.

Most pointless and incorrect use of "/thread" ever. Well done.

fact is your so clearly up your own ass that you cant even make at least any attempt to address points the OP has raised instead you feel the need to knock someone online....yes irony mr buzz...now blow me.

My spidey sense just went off! Who mentioned any of the following words being used together?! "PC" "Dying" "Killing"

Ban!

Edit: Oh, and loliamtheoneneo

I would have liked to see the on-line figures for the Xbox the week BEFORE Halo: Reach was released.

Indeed. CSS was released like...6 years ago? And yet 50k people are still playing it. I would be impressed if any console game can match the life span of a PC game.

AT OP: I've no idea what this was originally about, but comparing two numbers that are not based on the same thing is not very sensible is it. Halo Reach isn't available on the PC is it .. lol.

STEAM is NOT the be all and end all of gaming, and just because they collect stats does not make it all encompassing. XBox Live stats are more accurate as most people 'sign in', but also, not 100%.

I have a 360, but I hardly ever play on it even though it's right by my PC.

I would say that a LOT of the reason for gaming apparently going astray is MMO's and not JUST consoles. Just like big Xbox titles, MMO's capture gamers for a long time so they don't play anything else.

Apart from the main issues, one of the big reasons for the PC's apparent lack of popularity nowadays is that they are just to bloody complex, and console graphics can look pretty damn good to the layman. I think it just got to the point that consoles were 'good enough', and importantly 'cheap enough' (at least the initial cost). Just look at the Wii... people drawn in because of the uber cheap price to buy, but then look at all the extra's they fork out for. You could have bought a very nice PC for that.

Another area the PC fails is multiplayer gaming on the same machine. They simply never made it simple. lol.
