New Lotus Elite

DB9 wannabe - could do with rounding off - with a bit of electric thrown in.....

Which Premier League footballer will get one first :D

My dad has the 1974 lotus elite (wedge shape) we are currently in the process of restoring it. Dad knew a guy that was keeping it in his barn for years and its been stood still for about 10years under some hay :D
Its all good condition though, it was fully restored before it went into storage, all the chassis was stripped and dipped then galvanised. The bolt on shell is in good nic although it has a few scratches. Lovely leather seats, but the headlining has seen better days, its putting orange foamy stuff allover the cream leather :(.
Sadly it doesnt start, but we are trying !

That does look awesome. I have always like the late 50's early 60's lotus elite that was built by Bristol. I think it is one of the best looking British cars of its time. It seems that this one is following in its foot steps.:)

I can't remember another car that seems to have taken as menu design cues from other cars. It looks like ten different cars have been through a Top Gear welding session, not a fan. Lotus need their own look.

cool, me personally or my work?

Personally although it wasn't until I saw your mini spycam video that I realised.

Must admit it's not my favourite looking of the stuff in the studio at the moment but you can't argue with the ambition of the guys at the top. Really looking forward to Paris, even just to find out exactly which cars are being shown there.

Exiting times here.

Might be able to shed some light on the disguised MPV thing I see out and about on the roads round the factory. I would assume (and hope) its the guys at Proton and not a new direction for Lotus Cars.

They have their own look, but people seem to bitch about that as well...

Proton are apparently producing a MPV based on the Lotus APX concept.

Some great lines on this car, really looks the part in our flat fronted ped safety era of automotive design. The only thing I don't like on these assumed renders is the vent on the front, ruins it a little bit for me. I'd prefer there was just a nice looking hole in the wing, not a plastic thing to make people go "ooh look go faster cooling".

Would look the part in a bond film, probably why I like it :)
