Mooching... in your house
I've started plugging in a portable hdd into the ps3 instead of using the ps3 media server and I much prefer it... Put simply it's just much faster for high def stuff... Anyway...

VIDEO
- Folder 1
- - movies
- Folder 2
- - Sub Folder
- - - movies

Basically, when I go into Folder 2 the sub folder doesn't show up it just says no titles (but if I go in the triange show all route, it's all there and works fine so I know the files are ok)

Any idea why it can't see "Sub Folder" without using display all?

You have to setup a file structure for your drive.

You have to create folders called: MUSIC, PICTURE and VIDEO

So on your hard drive you will need to put it as:

E:/VIDEO/Films(Or whatever you want to call it)

It doesnt recognise sub folders unless you press the display all though. I press it without even thinking now. So much easier. Nothing wrong with your files, thats just how it is.

I have tried using my external HDD with the PS3 however it needs powering via the 2 USB ports and it won't work with the PS3.

Has anyone found a way around this?

Nono, it's across the board at that folder depth, files are visible 2 folders deep but not folders...

I would imagine that's the folder depth limit then, and not 10 as you might have seen elsewhere.

Never noticed it myself, but then I name all my folders with the season number in them too. Probably the easiest solution/only to the issue in your case, I think, unless you just use Display All in future.
