Do you fold the page or use a bookmark

Agreed. Even worse people who do it to library books..... it's not your book so don't treat it like it's yours to do with as you like.

Im reading through a book now with a tremendous amount of scribbles and underlines in it. I want to read the book, not your thoughts on the authors theories or what you find important, that stuff is mean't to go in your notebook

Personally I couldn't care and I always fold. So which are you?

*mutters something about crimes against bibliophiles*

I never fold a page in a book, I don't think i've done that since I was about 12 and started to realise I liked to reread my books.

I always either use a bookmark of some kind, or remember the page number - that is assuming i'm reading a paper book which is becoming rarer :) (I find my ereader much more comfortable, especially as when I'm reading a paper book I tend to take great lengths to protect it from undue damage).

I am kind of odd when it comes to books.

They look as new when I have finished them as when I started, the wife likes them to look read though.

If someone has spent time writing a book then we should show respect to it, always use scraps of paper etc, never ever fold. I hate to see folded corners :(

You mean you don't use Sheldon style reading gloves? Pff you filthy animal you... ;)

What an excellent idea! :D

Likewise.

Just use any random piece of paper as book mark. If nothing is close enough i'll fold the corner if i have to.
Never stop mid chapter, always finish it. Still can never remember chapter number though.

As the son of a librarian i kinda have to use a bookmark, but usually it's just anything lying around. Can't seem to hold on to them for that long...

Most of the books I read are hardbacks, so I use the cover to mark the page, nice and easy. For a paperback I'd probably fold the page, although if I have a bookmark (or something that will do the job) to hand, I'll use that.

All will change when my kindle arrives though!

Fold corner. Seriously, what's the problem? It doesn't bother me when I re-read stuff either...

I actually use my Ipad /straightens tie, looks down his nose on the thread :p

In all seriousness though, when I do read a real book, I could never crease the page it would make me cringe. I think I would normally use a bookmark or an piece of junkmail/takeaway menu (classy)

Last book I tried to read I just tried to remember the page number but failed so started reading it again from the start, this happened about 3 or 4 times until the reading was abandoned.
