My Car : Peugeot 306gti-6

My feelings :

I used to own a Honda Accord 2.0ise which was my first car, it was fantastic, comfy, smooth, well specced. Now my Peugeot was an impulse buy and how do I feel after almost 1 year?..

Well its an absolute pleasure to drive EVERY time I go out in it, My hand is always on the gearstick for fun random changedowns, the handling is fantastic. The speed is great for an old hot hatch.

The Interior is comfortable, quite nice with half alacantra.. but its not as chilled as my old Honda for my 300mile drives every couple of month.

So, how do you find your car, is it a dull drive but gets you from A-B or do you actually love it.

My car: BMW 530i Sport.

My feelings: I absolutely love it. It suits everything I want perfectly, its beautifully built, it's well specified, it's comfortable for my long trips and at home around town. It's quick enough, economical enough and handles well. I love the way it looks. I love pretty much everything about it.

But it's old, and I don't like old cars :(

I've wanted an Opel Manta since I was about 9 years old.

Most of my friends and colleagues have no idea what it is and no idea why anyone would want one. Most of them see it as just a random old car.

I love driving it, it has very little rear end grip and in the wet it's bordering on dangerous, which suits me down to the ground.
It's lack of power and poor brakes annoy me from time to time and the wind whistling through the side windows (pillarless) drives me to distraction on motorways.

Volvo S90 3.0

It doesn't really suit me, which is probably why I've only lasted 8 weeks before putting a deposit down on something a bit more sporty.
However, I can't really bring myself to sell it either as everything still works at 200,000 miles, it's comfortable, fully loaded and is a rather nice place to be.
But it averages low 20s and is a dreary old Volvo :o

BMW 330Ci

plenty quick enough, well screwed together, comfortable, women like it more than my old car (mainly due to the heated seats). lovely and schizophrenic... almost two cars in one

me likey.

330d sport

Love it but it's now a complete waste of time. Things go wrong on it which is annoying, but when it's running it's great. Will be replaced soon with possibly something completely different.

my friend makes a living doing them up he is infatuated by them, aswel as monzas senators mk1 cavs you name it.

Corrado VR6

Love it!!

Ammanford..... I used to live in Brynamman. I would guess your mate is Chris then?

Sorry for the off topic all!

94 Fiesta 1.1
I love the fact it simply keeps on going with minimal fuss, and I've put on nearly 30k to it.
Lack of power is massively annoying, so is lack of space and it's not very comfortable. However, it is surprisingly quite fun to drive since you really have to wring it out.

91 bmw 325i:
only driven it once and it's nearly ready to be on the road, but the sound and power, plus the relatively light weight is an instant winner for me.
I love the way the dash is really angled towards the driver (passengers don't get a look in with the controls :p)

My car: VW Bora TDI

My feelings:

The most relaxing car I've owned. Nice interior - leather, heated seats, lots of toys...whilst not beautiful inside it's certainly a pleasant place to be. Engine pulls nicely and it's quite happy getting past dawdlers on country lanes - generally very nice to drive. It does feel a bit rigid at the back when chucked into roundabouts etc and the engine could do with a little more grunt (noticeable when pushing past 70 on the back roads) but overall very happy with it and intend to run it into the ground.

Car: 2000 Saab 9-5 Aero Estate
Feelings: Having spent the same again on what I paid for it in getting up to a standard I was happy with and then getting a stage 1 tune, I love it.

There's no pretentiousness. The seats are comfortable. The dials are simple. The FWD is predictable. The 2.3 High Pressure Turbo makes light work of driving and the torque is immense.

I love Saab 9-5 aeros. I Fancied one for a while but they can cost a bomb to maintain from what Ive read.

My Car : Audi S3

My feelings :

Bought simply as a reliable but still semi fun car to replace my Clio. While it is good for the daily driving it just isn't as fun. It handles well while being more effortless to gain speed. It does get me wherever I want in comfort with no drama.

My Car : Clio 16v

My feelings :

For me, this car cannot be beaten in terms of fun and drama. For an old hatch it is simply amazing, fast, noisy and go-kart like. I miss it very much so I'm getting it back on the road for me to use as a track/weekend car. Sure it's unreliable and it rattly (only a little) but that is pat of the fun in owning it. Spent an awful lot of money on it and yet to do it again. :D

Saab 900 turbo

similar story to lopez, i've wanted a 900 since the day i travelled in one as a courtesy car whilst my dads 9000 was in for a service somewhere around 1993-1995. Difference is i wanted what is now considered to be the classic. I still want one, but i have become too attached to the newer 900 that i presently own.

My 900 is now nearly 16 years old and has done just shy of 180k, everything still works as it should, some things are now better than they were when it was new. Its been in the family since 1998 and ownership passed to me in march 2009. I've loved every minute of it especially tweaking things to make it more my own. The only annoyances its got left now are a dodgy reverse gear (due to excess engine movement and play in the linkage and shifter bushes), a rattle from the gearlever on WOT at low rpm (always been there from day one, only occurs when going up hills in second) and the funny noises that the climate control motors make when its been left untouched for a few days. The tin worm has started to attack the door bottoms which is very annoying as mine is a rare colour. There is no easy way to get ipod input for the headunit and double din doesn't fit, and single din looks out of place.

Only thing its missing (that technically i can have) is heated seats.

Integra DC2

Hate driving it around town because of the gearing, but over 30mph it's great to drive
Right rear caliper is annoying me, need to get it fixed

Had almost saved up for an S2000, but illness meant I had to use that money to live on for a few years :(, saved half back up and went for the Integra; in a way I'm glad I've got this instead now. With front wheel drive being more forgiving in the wet..

I've got an Anglia and a hotrodded model T, traditional style. I love them both. The Anglia has been off the road over a year and I miss driving it, but I love seeing it still in the garage. The drive is hard and planted and the car is very chuckable and fast. The T is uncomfortable, harsh, noisy, smelly and hard work to drive, but I love every minute and the intense involvement required. Look forward to every minute driving it.

My car: Ford Focus 1.6 Petrol

My feelings: What a brilliant car. Yeh okay, it's not a flash Audi, it's not a fast BMW or luxurious Merc. And yeh it is 10 years or so old - but so what? I love my car. It's very versatile, very reliable and quite economical. It has its quirks, and very rarely but surely cheeses me off, but that's all part of car ownership. 12 months ago I promised myself a new car. But to be honest, I just don't see why I would want a new car! My car does everything I need, and will need in the future, and still puts a smile on my face!

Toyota Soarer Twin Turbo

It’s old, tatty, horribly uneconomical (12MPG anyone?) people take the **** out of it/don’t understand why I drive a car that is nearly as old as me, but really, I absolutely freaking love it.

It ticks all the boxes that I wanted ticking from a new car – Quick, comfortable and a near endless scope for modification. I mean, It's quick enough to nail 60 in high 5s/low 6s, truck on to 160MPH+ but is still **** easy to drive about town in and is an absolute pleasure to drive on the motorway in, and yet has the potential to hold down 500BHP+ with little more than a bigger turbocharger, fueling and something to control it. And all this for a grand!

But saying that, the Soarer manages to tick a box that I just can’t really put into words. The car is just very “Me”. I honestly believe that if I were a car, I'd be a Soarer :).

Is it enough of a car that to stop my mind wondering? Unfortunately not. Having the motoring attention span of a gnat means that I doubt I’ll have the soarer in 5 years time (hell, 6 months is pushing it with me!) which is a real shame. I’ve said it before (and been laughed at) but I’ll say it again, I honest to god believe that there isn’t ANYTHING that I can buy a decent example for £5,000ish that is significantly better than my old Toyota, at least given my needs and requirements.

I love my car and already dread the day that I foolishly sell it.
