I always prep my cars with Autoglym at least twice, using the shampoo, resin polish and sealant. Then, after every wash it gets finished off with one of those wet wax polishes that enable you to start with a wet car, spray this stuff on and just wipe it off until dry.
If the original black isn't too good there a black vehicle detailing kit made by Turtle Wax.
