HTC Desire HD (Ace)

Yes, may as well order this over a Desire, unless you want to spend less, in which case get a Desire, if you can find one (they seem to be like hens teeth!). IMO anyway.

I think I'm going to wait a couple of weeks and see what the deals reduce to, can't see them being the price they are on the one mentioned above for too long.:)

Looks like you should move to Tmobile for a better deal.....

no t-mobile signal here, or Orange (my current provider) O2 and Voda get full bars almost everywhere i go though so i dont really have a choice.

Once they get their acts together and share masts the country will have a whole heap more choice.

yeah I saw those moments after making my post!

my current options are:

300min, unlim txt, "unlimited" data from mobilephonesdirect for £30 a month for 24 months free phone. total cost £720

300min, unlim txt, "unlimited" data from Vodafone sim only at £15 a month for 12 months. total 2 year cost £830 (Phone at £470)

The contract route is £110 cheaper over the two years, but the sim only deal only lasts 12 months, so i could go elsewhere if i wanted without being tied to the deal. Its a conundrum.

Don't forget quidco cashback for mobile phones direct.

Just looking at desirehd deals, pretty much settled for the £30/month from mobile phones direct, do they operate a cashback system or isi t just straight monthly direct debits?

Just pay it off

I would if I had a spare £280 :p. Though I guess I could pay it off then sell the HD2 on the bay.

Then again, contract runs out in May so not *so* long, am fairly happy with the HD2 for now and no doubt a better phone will be out by then anyway :p.

At the cost of an even shorter battery life? As long as the hardware/software are implemented well - it looks like 800Mhz is up to the job. Overclocking your phone - where does it stop lol!?

Probably, heat has started to become an issue too. How long before we see some form of active SoC cooling? (water cooled desire/iPhone anyone? :p)

Well the minimum spec required for Android 3.0 (Gingerbread) is listed as 1Ghz...

Besides I've been overclocking my Palm Pre from 500Mhz to 1Ghz for a while now :) Its a really good patch, it auto clocks down if the temp gets too high (which it hasnt yet) and it only runs at 1Ghz while the screen is on.

Im all set on this now. The mobilephonesdirect T-mobile £25pm/ 18m/ £109 for the phone looks the best at the moment with 300min and changing unlimited txts to net thus getting 300texts.
Hopefully come release date there will be more competition to get the price down further.

Am with T-mobile currently so maybe they will offer me a nice upgrade, although not holding my breath!

did i miss something? where is the option to change the deal around like that?

Also, when i went to the site i found the contract you mention, but when i created an account the same deal went from 109 for the phone down to £85. very odd.

Late edit: i've just ordered a sim from O2 Voda and T-mobile to see what signal is like at home and at work.
