I'm not sure it is related to my mouse but I use my PC a lot and recently I've been getting a mild ache in my right little finger. I'm wondering if its due to my MX518 mouse. Has anyone else had similiar troubles?

The MX518 has nowhere for the pinky to sit, I discovered this when I made the switch to a Deathadder.

Mine never caused aches, and tbh I didn't notice it until I made the switch. If you're getting aches, I'd recommend switching to a bigger mouse.

Never ached with it, but.. I normally use my first two fingers on the main buttons, and don't use my middle finger for the roller, I use my 2nd finger instead. So my pink actually rests against the desk. I were to use it in as a 3 button mouse and use 3 fingers on (middle finger on roller), then it would feel unnatural to me, and perhaps make it ache. But never had an issue personally.

10-15 years ago before anyone thought of the ergonomic implications of mice I worked on a Sun workstation with their orginal oblong 3-button mice - basically it was like a small box shaped object - no curves - with 3 buttons on top. So the natural way to hold it was thumb one side and little finger on other to grip it and index, middle and ring fingers over the buttons. Result was an unnatural seperation of little finger from ring finger along with it having to be tensed to hold/move the mouse. After a few months of this I started to realize I was losing feeling along the inside of my little finger and developing aches up my arm. To this day these haven't really gone but I control them by minimizing my use of a mouse by learning the keyboard equivalents of pulling down menus etc.

If a mouse is making you finger ache then DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT before it gets more serious.
