Which 3.0i for around 15k?

Look alright but prefer the Blacklines from BMW perfomance

Which are old style halogen lights which have no place on a modern premium car.

Don't see why anyone would spend proper money on the pre facelift e90s. They are a mess of sub par cost cutting styling imo.

What are you basing this on? To me it looks like it has the exact same system that is in my e60, which is climate control and works as I described.

You can see it in the pictures? It's not even dual zone. Even a 1996 3 series had dual zone!

The first gen e60 interior and spec is terrible.

My understanding of the variations of E60 air is as follows:

That car - AirCon
Climate control - Independent temperature control of the front two occupants but at the same positions (i.e. face / windscreen, face / feet is the same both sides). Commonly known as dual zone CC
Extended CC is the same as above but allows each user to define how much air is blown through any vent through iDrive.
There was also a 4 zone CC which covered the rear passengers independent temperatures too.

I agree that the advanced system is far nicer (and so is the button controlled system in the e39), but it still carries out the basic climate control function of achieving and maintaining the selection cabin temperature by adjusting fan speed and temperature without any intervention.

If your definition of climate control requires dual zone then I concede that it doesn't have climate control :p

Some new engines? Almost every engine was replaced! And there was a new i drive, with shortcut buttons and the change to MOST bus.

Fair enough. I thought the major i-Drive change came some time later, but I might be wrong.

There was a further iDrive revision in 2008 to HD based and 3d city scapes. Also, the autobox is not just a funky joystick, it's a new box completely AFAIK.

Better interior and LED tail lights. Some new engines (e.g. 525d got a detuned version of the 3.0 530d engine, rather than a 2.5). Automatics got a funky looking joystick gear selector.

There's more info here: http://www.5series.net/information/2008_LCI_Detailed_Changes.pdf

Well that was an interesting read, some of it made me call for the bucket like "the double kidney appears more powerful and autonomous", what, it looks the same to me :)

Is there a similar doc detailing pre-LCI, LCI changes for the 3?
