When will gfx cards stop growing? xD

Hopefully the 5970 is as big as they will get, they really need to set some type of limitation on length as some cases are barely coping with cards like the 5970.

Yup I was pleasantly suprised to find the GTX470 was a good inch and a bit shorter than my old 200 series cards

Yep! Freed up two HDD bays for me, very happy.

damn what would be funny is when they start to make sockets on your motherboard for your GPU, just like they do with CPU, and then instead of one big heatsink you have two, only one thing how would you sli them, or would that just all down internal, ie like the 980x think of that as a GPU chip???

Ya know just me thinking how long do you think gfx card will stop growing? they get longer every year, how will it get later on, more bigger cases?

they aren't, you're imagining it. there have always been uber long cards available.

Lol how did people get that in a case? It must be a similar size to a 5970. Comparing it to modern cards, there is so much space on the card.

Really? I thought the 5970 was around 12 - 12.5 ". Iirc the 4870x2 is about 11 ish ".

How long is yours?
