Another spec me/friend/family thread.....
My mum currently drives a Toyota Corolla T Sport on a 52 plate. Shes owned it since 2003 and its got 140k on the clock. Its in pretty decent condition and she loves the car but shes looking for a change now. She drives on average 70 miles a day to and from work (shift work, so it could be any number of days a week).
Im guessing her budget is a max of around 10k; her car is worth between £1500-2k trade in. She wont be selling privately because she just wants a hassle free trade in, and the car isnt worth much more than 2k anyway. Shes been offered £1700 from Ford against any of their new or used cars.
Her main requirements are a car that is reasonably new with warranty and has good fuel consumption (she currently gets through just over 1 tank per week) that will get her safely to and from work.
Thats pretty much it. If she could own a convertible BMW she would in a heartbeat but they are out of her price range. Im going to see if I can tempt her with an MX5 when Im back home for a visit next month.
Ive suggested another Toyota as this one has been very reliable, but their range isnt the most exciting at the moment. Current cars Im thinking are along the lines of a Civic or Focus. Any other suggestions would be great, cheers.
