Codemasters F1 2010 X360/PS3 (contains important question about 2011 game!!!)

Yeah, it certainly does. Look forward to hearing the results. I really hope this does have a simulation edge to it. Although I only have a pad I like the idea of racing literally on the edge.

erm postmans been today, no game :(

I'm confused, on their website it states :

"We always send our pre-ordered products using the priority (first class) service for added assurance that you will receive your order by the day of release. Your card is not charged until the goods leave our warehouse. You can cancel pre-orders at any time before the order is marked as ‘Shipped’."

It was shipped yesterday according to my account on the website. Does not "by day of release" mean before the day of release...

Adding even more confusion on the main page of the site it says "Out today (24/09/10)"

"By day of release" would mean it should arrive no later than release day (24/09/2010 aka tomorrow)

Difficulty wise how does this compare to playing forza 3 on the hardest setting?

I had a go last night in a fully tuned koenigsegg around catalunya using a pad, automatic gears though. Which was pretty hard but just about manageable.

I had to leave early, so I missed the postman. Pretty sure it has arrived though.

Boss isn't in this week so am tempted to go home for lunch :o:D

I play Forza 3 with only TCS on and use manual gears... With the pad (get used to manual gears with F3... It's the only way to play) on the hardest setting of AI... I can confirm, F1 2010 is a lot harder on the AI difficulties lol, I am playing on medium and am just keeping it in my pants to get into the top 10... Last night, I came 24th due to sliding out a few times and thought I would keep in the spirit of realism by finishing the race and not restarting.

I spent a good 2 hours last night going round a circuit adjusting the assists, all I have on is TCS and racing line. Will remove racing line once I have found out my personal lines in the game and tcs when I get a wheel.

I use manual gears as well as after playing last night I was previously on automatic. The thing is, in auto, a 3rd gear corner could come up from a long 5th gear... the game wouldn't change down at the right time so you run wide. With manual you can get the gears right and get into the corner perfectly.

edit: For those playing in the 'above' cockpit view, please refrain and go to the inside cockpit view... I understand why you go to above so you can see the track, but honestly, once you get used to the inside cockpit view, it is beyond rewarding :D Nothing like hitting a back straight flat out with another racer along side you, constantly watching him and waiting for him to brake so you can outbreak him. Playing chicken at 200mph is fun :D

I have just managed to fit in 25 minutes play time. Now im no expert here but im using a pad on custom difficulty with No ABS or Traction control and auto gears. It seems quite easy to get round a corner without spinning and braking hard (the wheels dont appear to even lock up !) !

Obviously on the gravel/grass its a different story. I'll have to give it more time as 25mins is not long enough, I was maybe expecting it to be a little more hardcore **** your pants stuff.

What are the controls for this on a pad with manual gears?

No clutch, A is up a gear, X is down... Not sure for PS3

Also, they can be changed. I was going to change to up being on the right shoulder button and left shoulder button being the down shift... Like the flappy gear levers, but I realised I would have to take my fingers off the triggers lol.
