You wouldn't be able to drive it away.
Isn't the rule that you can drive an untaxed car, but only for the journey to pick up a new tax disc from the Post Office or wherever?
Thanks guys, this is why I asked the question. So it should not really be a problem, especially if it says it has a valid MOT. The dealer should then just be able to tax it. However I suppose you cannot really take it for a test drive then.
